Fruits Basket discussion

I enjoyed watching the series although I cannot really say that I like it. There are just too many things that remind me of other Animes / Mangas and I cannot stand it when people copy like that and even succeed with it.

You better get over it then, there's a bunch of copies everywhere in the world. You'll find them everywhere. Hell, an example would be pop stars, sports, action movies, etc. You name it, there's something just like it that differentiates from it by a simple variable. Coke and Pepsi? They're both soda, with slightly different tastes. I wish people would stop complaining about this. It's pretty hard to come up with something original without having someone rant that it's taken from something else. Look at all of the major religions. You could probably say that they're all copying from each other and succeeding. Bottomline, there's safety in routine, get used to it.

What are you getting so worked up for? This is only anime and if I don't like it then I just don't like it. No need to go into therapy or something.
In this case though there are not only similarities, there are even the exact same jokes. Shigure for instance is a writer and always late with his manuscripts. And he's somewhat childish when it comes to hand in his work. And there's absolutely the same repeating joke in Kodocha. Just to tell you one thing. Well... When I first watched Furuba I thought: "Wow, this is some great humour!" But then afterwards I was really disappointed to see this and many other things seem to be copied and all in all the series does not even make sense, really. I mean, there was the curse and a girl that pops up out of no where and helps everyone live a happy life after she talks to them only for a few minutes. I watched the series and waited to learn what's behind the whole curse thing - in vain. That's like: "Hey, this joke worked there and this character was pretty popular there, so let's put this and that together and wrap it into a funny idea about curses and cute pets which actually has no certain meaning at all." -_-
Really, the series is quite entertaining but I'm not of a high opinion of it though. You see, that's why I don't care at all whether it's Pepsi or Coke that I like better. None of both is to be worshipped or anything. But I am sort of a (hobby) mangaka myself and that's why I mostly classify manga and anime for things like originality.

That's why I think the Love Hina manga did absolutely no justice to its manga counterpart.
