Hey i've got another question. How many volumes is the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex going to be. Is it a worthwhile buy? Like does it have alot of extras and stuff? any help would be great. I saw two different versions and want to know what to buy? (one had a casing) thanks.

GitS: SAC is great so far. It will be 6 volumes with (I think) a standard and special edition of each version.
For now though, what you saw were the standard Vol.1 (w/ no slipcase) and the special edition Vol.1 (w/ slipcase and extras). The standard is just a DVD with Dolby Digital 5.1 in both languages, 4 episodes, and a few extras which include interviews with director Kenji Kamiyama and Kusanagi's seiyuu Atsuko Tanaka. The special edition has that same disc, another disc with the same material minus the extras and with a DTS 5.1 replacing the DD 5.1 (which means you actually get 2 versions of Vol.1), and also comes with a copy of the soundtrack and slipcase to keep them in. It's a very cool show if you're into sci-fi and police drama. I have the special edition, and the music is excellent too (as composed by the great Yoko Kanno of course). Heck, I'll even provide you some links to where to buy them. Standard Special Edition |

Hey, does anyone know what language besides English and Latin is used in the opening them for SAC? The third language is definitely not Japanese, but it works *really* well.

It's Russian. The opening themes for both SAC and 2nd gig are sung by the Russian singer Origa. |

Thanks for the help on that. I wouldn't have pegged that as Russian. Sounds beautiful, though.

In my little New Mexico town. There is a video store that has it's own anime section and GITS: SAC is one of the most viewed material and is a current bestseller.

Yes, I assume. Although I don't have Japanese TV, the Encylopedia entry seems to say so. |
