Akane-banashi is filling the Act-Age void of being a performing arts based manga with a female lead. And, boy, what a female lead. Akane is probably one of my favourite WSJ main characters right now, right besides Yuuji. She's really great, both in personality and design.

Been really enjoying this one every week. Can't wait to see it animated, so hopefully we get an announcement within the next year or two.

A pleasant surprise of a series.

An anime adaptation will be worth watching. I have no familiarity with Rakugo beyond how it is presented in the manga. How I'm hearing it in my mind as I'm reading may be way off.

Akane-banashi is by far my favourite manga being published at the moment, so glad to see it get some recognition! An anime adaptation would be amazing, with how good the Shouwa Genroku anime adaptation was I'd hope this would be at least on par with it if not better

I hadn't heard of this series so thanks for the article that details why its worth checking out. I bought the first three volumes of Act-age last year as the idea of a manga focusing on acting was write interesting. As others have mentioned Akane-banashi seems to have taken that orbits series' place so I'll check it out and see if it becomes a series that go on to read regularly.
