Honestly the biggest surprise is finding out this is somewhat supposed to be a Shaft co-production.

Honestly so far the adaption is delivering and exceptionally adapting the source material, and the voice work and sound design is as phenomenal as the animation/direction.

My only concern is if the production can keep this up. The fact that they had to reuse footage for the OP is concerning enough as is.

In a weird way it feels like a slice of life anime to me. A rather deadly daily life, but one about making friends and going on trips regardless. I love almost everything about it so far, looking forward to more.

This show is amazing only with 2 episodes out. And judging by the ending sequence, I already love this odd ball cast of characters. Can’t wait till the other two join because this looks like so much fun.

Given how many animation directors the 2nd episode had I have a feeling things are going to start falling apart halfway through.

Also, episode 2 already had some cases of outright bad animation. Like when Akira leaves the house to buy beer right after talking to the neighbours, there is a brief moment where it looks like he's running on air.

Its ok for now, but I feel like Akira lack empathy and appreciation for the fact he is a in zombie apocalypse will get old. I mean does this dude have any relatives he might be the least tiny bit concerned about? At least is Shizuka grounding some of show at moment. Never expected the show to keep up with episode 1 level of production so I am not at downgrade episode 2 is in terms of everything.

That part of the airing magic of previous was inventive direction and eye-popping visuals that helped sell Akira's story and that's not nearly as present this week. Its good, but that is just merely it now.

He does have family. One of the things he lists is visiting his parents in the country. He also mentioned hanging out with his best friend.

Alright then, still weird that he doesn't even mentioned them over everything else that's happening. We see if he mellows out a bit.

I really don't get the attraction of this show.

Quote:
I'm sure Shaun and Ed would be very proud, indeed.

Watch Shaun of the Dead again? I'm sure you need a refresher. It's why I immediately marked down Akira as insane as its why some people have having problems connecting to him. It took Ed and Shaun some time to figure out it was zombies but once they did, they tried. Akira is trying, he's not trying.

The story keeps going of its way to save him and it's mentally hurting me. Akira's thought process in episode 2 "Beer is life" and he could only start thinking once beer was obtained. And his first thought after obtaining beer: "Oh, a survivor!" His Neighbors the Kosadas didn't count because beer and he didn't close the store door because beer. I don't like him, I want him to become zombie chow.

We meet the Survivor Girl who the story is also going out of its way to save; It's so bad at this, it makes me miss High School of the Dead. "You have a skill, you use that skill, you survive."

Survivor girl depends on a random truck going in a random direction at a random yet fast enough speed to randomly hit with precision zombies attacking them in the store... without hitting them. Her thought on it later: "Zombies can kill other zombies." No, that was Truck-kun and those zombies are now appearing in Isekai Zombies.

I don't like her either. There's safety in numbers, even if it's just "I'll escape if I use you as bait".

I doubt this will make any difference to anybody who isn't vibing on this show, but the primary focus of it is thematic and comedic. It's not trying to be a realistic or naturalistic representation of what would really happen if a zombie outbreak occurred (perhaps the colorful paint splotches to represent blood has tipped you off?). If that's the kind of experience you are looking for, I feel pretty confident in predicting that this show is not going to give that to you.

What is this comment? Do you not see the vibe this show is obviously giving? Lol it’s mostly a comedy, dude. The main character being so miserable being stuck in his shitty job that it took a zombie apocalypse to make him happy again, solely because he doesn’t have to work there again is the prime focus on this story. He’s making the best out his situation in a world that’s in trouble. He realizes that. He says so this episode. But you don’t seem to understand how miserable he was working at that job. Of course he’s ecstatic he now doesn’t have to go, zombies or not.

Yea he’s not a realistic character. But this isn’t that type of series lol.

I'm really glad Episode 2 adjusted the Red Blood Vs Rainbow Blood to around 3/4. It's fine for the OP/ED and symbolic moments, but more red is better for the rest of the screentime.

So maybe this show isn't for you and you can just skip it while the rest of us enjoy the zany ride.
