Eh I've actually come across a volume of this in scanlations (I mean it does sound a lot more innocent than it is) and I wasn't so much offended as surprised. I've read worse manga though, and I've aslo read better manga. It's imaginative to say the least..

I really, really dig this series and can't wait for future volumes (if any are coming, and I hope they are). Yonekumi & Shiro are my favorite couple of the bunch and I can't wait for the 2nd OVA for that very reason.

Despite knowing how bizarre this series is, I think the thing that has been keeping me from trying it is the art. I've been turned off of more than one mangaka because I didn't like her art (Fumi Yoshinaga, for example, even though I think she is a good storyteller). It's on my second tier list, so it'll be a while before I get to it.

There are better BL series. This one is in the acquired taste category. However, even Hollywood's done the male pregnancy thing, so there are a lot of people at least thinking it.
I am less than impressed with the art.
Also the yuri. I mean, yes I know some BL fans like both, but can we get the main couple together? Worry about the chicks fathering kids with chicks after. Even the other male couples are annoying when the interrupt the main plot which might be one of my beefs with the title--she is either into slow romance, or she's ADHD because it's taken 3 volumes to get where other BL titles can get in 1. (I have the same gripe on Junjyo. We're just getting good on the main couple & POOF-Story 2's turn.)

I'm wondering why someone hasn't made a joke yet about a certain group going for this manga.

This is a title that I have enjoyed in the past, but it possesses so many glaring cringe-worthy moment that I can't really understand the rating it gets.

This series would be pretty darn near perfect if it were not for the artwork.

Artwork aside, and since this is something not mentioned in the review, the title suffers from some BL cliches pushed to the extreme. Every single relationship in the manga is unbalanced and relies heavily on rape and psychological abuse that I came to believe that every abused character embraces Stockholm Syndromes full-heartedly. Even Norio, the most resistant, ends up falling for Kunimasa who treats him solidly as a baby bearing toy. I'm not sure this manga would have been welcome were the abused parties women.

They're not arguments and misunderstandings as much as direct and aggressive dub-con.

Wow, I'm a bit surprised there are so many people who are turned off by the art-- I actually like her style (for the record, I dig Fumi Yoshinaga's style too). And as for the main couple's story getting interrupted all the time-- that doesn't bother me because: A.) switching to other characters lets her flesh out the world of the manga more and I actually like it when she gives us another window into the characters' relationships with one another; and B.) as I mentioned before, the main couple isn't my favorite of the bunch, so I'm happy to see some other guys get some of the attention periodically.

An OVA of LP? OMG!! Feeling giddy...I always hoped there would be an anime but thought this might be a little too off center for them to consider. And now you say there is not only one, but a second one coming out?!! Possibly with Shiro the beautiful wolf-man [rowr!] Must...find...a...way...to watch!

I enjoyed the review; very similar to my own thoughts. The art has been trying at times but the story line more than makes up for it, at least for these early volumes.

I didn't read that far but I thought it was kinda eh...not that good.

The way that guy was so damn aggressive and creepy. And wanting to impregnate him so badly..ugh. Just couldnt feel the love. Then the uke (I hate these terms but I dont remember the names of the characters) somehow loves him..? Cause of what..? Scent..? He's just horny? Lol maybe it flew over my head. Laughing

It doesnt help that one guy is huge and the other is so frail looking.

Points for the unique..or crazy..plot.

To be fair I didn't read far enough to see the other couples. So does it get better?

Also I got so confused when they tried explaining how everything works. The pairs and stuff. I felt so lost.

I'm also in the camp that didn't like this very much at all largely because of the extremely unbalanced relationships and the complete lack of personal chemistry between the characters. I couldn't believe at all that there was an honest affection between any of the characters involved, and the wonky artwork didn't help to make up for it. The story is strange and offbeat on the surface, but ultimately it's just another cliched, rushed, and disposable tale with two random men being thrown together.

I understand how this could have been funny, and I understand why this could have been an incredibly different and enjoyable little ditty, but between the writing and the overall execution, it just came off as a train wreck. I guess I was just disappointed by the wasted potential.

To be fair, I only read the first two volumes, so maybe it gets much better, but I found the characters to be way too annoying to bother to find out. But that's just me. I know there are a lot of people who have acquired a taste for this story, I just can't find anything to like in it. Of course, it's not the worst story I've read in the genre, but I'd say it's just very, very far from being one of the better ones.

You mean Junjou Romantica? I can actually handle that one. Mostly because I like all 3 of the main couples. But I do wish there was more Terrorist. I dunno why the other two are more popular. :/ I was able to handle Love Mode too.

This one though, I could barely make it through the first couple. I might try reading it again to see if I change my mind. It seems sorta popular..I think.

To be honest, with my first impression of the artwork I went in thinking I wouldn't care for this manga very much. But once I started reading I found myself completely engaged in the story and forgot about the artwork (which actually ended up growing on me in the end). Overall I really enjoyed this story and hope more volumes come out.
