Trivia:

Kaito kid appeared in a number of episodes of Detective Conan, another work of Gosho Aoyama.

Gosho Aoyama intends to continue working in this manga, and possibly turn it to an anime, once he is finished with the infinite Detective Conan.

Detective Conan Volume 16, File 6/Anime Episode 76: The police gave the codename 1412 to the mysterious phantom thief but a writer transformed the numbers and they read "KID". (If you look hard enough, you can see it. 14 is KI and 12 is D.) This is revealed in Detective Conan volume 16, file 6.

Volume 3, Chapter 4: The title for this chapter is "Akako no takyuubin". Since Volume 3 came out in 1994, it's quite possible that the title is a reference to "Majo no takyuubin" (better known as "Kiki's Delivery Service") seeing as Akako is a witch like Kiki.

The writer/journalist who read "1412" as "KID" was Yuusaku Kudou, father of Meitantei Conan's main character Shinichi Kudou.
