Rei Ayanami Gets Official Blue Paint Color

You can now paint any room in official "AYANAMIBLUE" paint by Turner Colour's J Colour line. The paint went on sale on July 26 and the company also plans to release variations on the shade in three types of acrylic gouache in October.
The color is a blend between Water Blue and Frosty Blue, which speaks well to Rei's standoffish demeanor. A bust of the character painted entirely in the new color was on display at Wonder Festival 2015 [Summer] at Makuhari Messe last weekend.
The paint is going fast online and has already sold out in some locations. Each can sells for 2,160 (about US$17.50).
The paint is just one in a series of campaigns marking the 20th anniversary of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Anime director Hideaki Anno and original mecha designer Ikuto Yamashita are working directly on an official train and a tie-in smartphone is in the works.
