Korean Idol Unit Girls' Generation Debuts in Club Sunday Series

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
TVXQ, SHINee also appear in Shogakukan, SM Entertainment's Ent. title

The Korean idol unit Girls' Generation will be featured in a new manga series on Shogakukan's free online manga publication Club Sunday, which is linked to the Shonen Sunday magazine, starting on Tuesday. The manga, titled Ent., will also feature members from the R&B boy group SHINee and the pop group TVXQ. SM Entertainment is collaborating with Shogakukan on the project.

The first chapter in the series is available to read until July 30. The second chapter will launch on June 12.

YLAB is in charge of planning for the project. Park Mi-Suk is handling the manga's story, and Kang Un-Yeong is drawing the manga's artwork. The "thrilling story" will present both the surface and the underside worlds of the Korean entertainment industry. The work's goal is to be as real as possible in depicting the industry and it will use the real names of the members of Girls' Generation, SHINee, and TVXQ.

The manga will center on a well-known online high school writer and his classmate who is secretly the vocalist of a new group with SM Entertainment.

The manga will also be serialized in Korean on the Naver Webtoons website starting on July 4.
