Blu-ray, DVD and Collector's Edition from Anime Limited

- According to listings on Amazon UK, and an item on UK Anime News, all three home editions of Giovanni's Island will be released on January 12 by Anime Limited.

There will be a Collectors Edition, a Blu-ray and a DVD. It was previously announced that all three versions will feature 55 minutes of extras including a Making Of (38 mins), a Digital Art Gallery, an interview with the Russian voice of the film character Tanya and a deleted music clip.

The Collector's Edition will additionally contain a 76-page softbook book on the film, covering the film's production and artwork. It will be limited to 1000 copies.

Production I.G's Annecy-winning hand-animated Giovanni's Island film tells the story of two brothers living on the island of Shikotan. Their family and the people of the island hear of Japan's loss in the war and are told not to worry. However, their island gets caught in the middle of the continuing conflict in the west and is invaded by Russian soldiers. Giovanni's Island received the Satoshi Kon Prize for Excellence in Animation and tied for the Audience Award at the 18th annual Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal.
