Haikyu!! Gets 2nd Volleyball 3DS Game From Bandai Namco

I.G illustrates new story with player as protagonist, teammates from other schools

This year's 46th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Saturday that Bandai Namco Entertainment making a second Nintendo 3DS game for the Haikyu!! volleyball manga and anime. In Haikyu!! Cross team match, the player becomes the protagonist in the world of Haikyu!! The "youth experience simulation" game will follow a brand-new original story with newly created illustrations by the anime studio Production I.G.

The player can select characters as teammates, and add more teammates while exploring the local area and talking with other characters. Plus, the player can choose teammates who are not Karasuno athletes. Future issues of the magazine will reveal which schools will have potential teammates in the game.

The release date and price of the game have not been set.

The first 3DS game, Haikyu!! Tsunage! Itadaki no Keshiki!! (Haikyu!! Connect! View From the Top!!), shipped in Japan on September 25, 2014.

Production I.G's first television anime of Haruichi Furudate's Haikyu!! volleyball manga premiered in April and the last episode aired last September. Sentai Filmworks has licensed the series for North American digital and home video release and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired. The second season premiered this week.
