Series of 15-minute shorts premieres in July

This year's combined 21st and 22nd issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine is revealing the main cast and theme song details on Wednesday for the television anime of Toshiya Wakabayashi's Tsuredure Children (Idle Children) manga.

The anime stars:

Inori Minase is performing the anime's opening theme song, and Yui Ogura is performing the ending theme song.

The issue is also revealing that the anime will premiere in July. The series will air on Tokyo MX on Tuesdays at 11:15 p.m., on Sun TV on Tuesdays from 24:15 (effectively Wednesdays at 12:15 a.m.), and on BS11 on Tuesdays at 26:15 (effectively Wednesdays at 2:15 a.m.). Each episode will be 15 minutes long.

The issue also teases that more details will be revealed in June for a "surprising project." The manga's eighth compiled volume will also ship in June.

Hiraku Kaneko (The Qwaser of Stigmata, Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid, Manyū Hiken-chō) is directing the anime at Studio Gokumi, and Tatsuhiko Urahata (Saki, Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere, Haganai NEXT) is in charge of the series scripts. Etsuko Sumimoto (Yuri Kuma Arashi) is designing the characters.

The four-panel manga is dedicated "to those of you who can't say 'I love you.'" The manga chronicles a series of short school romance stories in an omnibus format.

Wakabayashi launched the manga online in October 2012, and then also began serializing it with new material in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2015. Kodansha published the manga's seventh compiled book volume on February 17.

Kodansha Comics will release the manga digitally in English starting on April 25.
