SNK Reveals New Samurai Shodown Game

SNK develops game using Unreal Engine 4

Sony's "PlayStation LineUp Tour" streaming event on Monday revealed that SNK is developing a new Samurai Shodown (Samurai Spirits) game, which will launch in 2019.

SNK is developing the game using Unreal Engine 4. The game will feature popular characters from previous games in the franchise including Haōmaru, Nakoruru, and Galford.

The fighting game series originally launched in 1993. The latest game in the franchise, Samurai Shodown: Sen, launched for arcades in April 2008. The game later received a release for the Xbox 360 in Japan in December 2009 and in North America in March 2010.
