The official website for the Re:Zero anime revealed on Saturday that the anime will have a second television anime season. The website for the second season is streaming a video for the anime, and also revealed the visual and returning cast members. The site is also streaming a promotional video for the upcoming Re:Zero Hyōketsu no Kizuna original video anime (OVA) episode.

The returning cast members for the second season include Yūsuke Kobayashi, Rie Takahashi, Yumi Uchiyama, Inori Minase, Rie Murakawa, Satomi Arai, and Takehito Koyasu as Subaru, Emilia, Puck, Rem, Ram, Beatrice, and Roswaal, respectively.

The video did not reveal the second season's staff.

The 25-episode Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- anime adaptation premiered in April 2016. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. Crunchyroll is also streaming both the Re:Zero ~Starting Break Time From Zero~ and Re:PETIT ~Starting Life in Another World from PETIT~ short anime spinoff series. Funimation released the television anime on home video with an English dub last June.

The first OVA episode in the franchise, Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Memory Snow, opened in Japanese theaters last October at #8. The episode featured a returning cast and staff.

Re:Zero Hyōketsu no Kizuna (Frozen Bonds) debut theatrically this fall. The OVA will adapt the meeting between Emilia and Puck. The original Re:Zero Kara Hajimeru Zenjitsu-tan: Hyōketsu no Kizuna prequel novel was included with the first Blu-ray Disc home video release of the television anime series in Japan.

Tappei Nagatsuki launched the original novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2012. Yen Press is publishing the light novel series in English, and is also releasing Daichi Matsuse's manga adaptation of the series, as well as the Re:Zero Ex spinoff light novel series.
