"Phantom Joke" CD ships on October 11 after anime's October 5 premiere

The official Twitter account for Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia (Fate/Grand Order: Zettai Majū Sensen Babylonia), the television anime of the Fate/Grand Order smartphone game's "Dai Nana Tokuiten Zettai Majū Sensen Babylonia" (Order VII: The Absolute Frontline in the War Against the Demonic Beasts: Babylonia) story, began streaming the anime's second promotional video on Sunday. The video announces the opening theme song "Phantom Joke" by Unison Square Garden.

The second key visual debuted earlier on Saturday:

The "Phantom Joke" song is Unison Square Garden's first collaboration in the Fate franchise. Band member Tomoya Tabuchi composed the song and wrote its lyrics. He said he pushed himself to create a song to properly accompany the project's epic adventure, and thus a song was born that conveys a future never before seen. Its CD will go on sale on October 11.

Tokyo's Animate Ikebukuro and Animate Osaka Nipponbashi shops will hand out an "Extra Edition" of the fictional Babylonia Times newspaper at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, and Tokyo's main Akihabara Gamers shop will then hand out the edition at noon.

The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV on October 5 at 11:30 p.m. The anime will also air on MBS and will stream on AbemaTV, Niconico Nama Dōga, Niconico Channel, and d Anime Store.

The anime stars:

CloverWorks (DARLING in the FRANXX, PERSONA 5 the Animation) is producing the television anime series, with lead character designer Takeshi Takeuchi (Fate anime franchise). Toshifumi Akai (assistant director DARLING in the FRANXX, Porter Robinson's "Shelter" director) is directing the series, with assistant director Miyuki Kuroki (The Idolm@ster SideM director). Tomoaki Takase (Occultic;Nine, Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend) is the character designer. Keita Haga (Fate/stay night theme song lyrics) and Ryo Kawasaki (Fate/Grand Order: First Order) are composing the music.

"Episode 0 Initium Iter" of the anime already debuted within the main Fate/Grand Order game app on August 11 (the episode was only available for 24 hours), and became available on Japanese streaming services on August 12. Crunchyroll began streaming the episode on September 5.

The game is also inspiring a two-part anime film project. Fate/Grand Order Shinsei Entaku Ryōiki Camelot: Wandering: Agateram and Fate/Grand Order Shinsei Entaku Ryōiki Camelot: Paladin: Agateram will adapt the "Dai Roku Tokuiten Shinsei Entaku Ryōiki: Camelot" (Order VI: The Sacred Round Table Realm: Camelot) story from the game. The first film will open in 2020.

Aniplex released the Fate/Grand Order smartphone game in Japan in summer 2015. The game received an English release in the United States and Canada in June 2017.
