Muse Asia announced on Saturday that it has licensed the television anime adaptation of Tsuyoshi Fujitaka's My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered (Sokushi Cheat ga Saikyōsugite, Isekai no Yatsura ga marude Aite ni Naranain Desu ga.) light novel series, as well as the Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga, the new anime based on Kazue Katō's Blue Exorcist manga.

The stream for My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered will debut on January 5 at 12:30 a.m. The anime will premiere in Japan on January 4.

Masakazu Hishida (Fairy Ranmaru, Ensemble Stars!, KING OF PRISM by PrettyRhythm) is directing the anime at animation studio Okuru to Noboru. Jou Aoba (a penname for Hishida) is writing and overseeing the series scripts. Sayuri Sakimoto (Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki OAV 5/2020) is the character designer. Music composers include Hanae Nakamura, Tatsuhiko Saiki, Kanade Sakuma, and Daisuke Kadowaki. Maika Sakuragi (voiced by Anna Suzuki) of the virtual girl group Utahime Dream will perform the ending theme song "Haze."

The anime will star:

J-Novel Club offers the light novel series in English, and it describes the story:

Awaking to absolute chaos and carnage while on a school trip, Yogiri Takatou discovers that everyone in his class has been transported to another world! He had somehow managed to sleep through the entire ordeal himself, missing out on the Gift — powers bestowed upon the others by a mysterious Sage who appeared to transport them. Even worse, he and another classmate were ruthlessly abandoned by their friends, left as bait to distract a nearby dragon.
Although not terribly bothered by the thought of dying, he reluctantly decides to protect his lone companion. After all, a lowly Level 1000 monster doesn't stand a chance against his secret power to invoke Instant Death with a single thought! If he can stay awake long enough to bother using it, that is...

The stream for Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga will debut on January 7 at 1:00 a.m. The anime will premiere in Japan on January 6.

Daisuke Yoshida is directing the anime at Studio VOLN, and Toshiya Ono is overseeing the series scripts. Yurie Oohigashi is the character designer and chief animation director, and Kohta Yamamoto and Hiroyuki Sawano are composing the music. The rock band UVERworld is contributing the opening theme song "Eye's Sentry," and Mulasaki-Ima is performing the ending theme "Gakkyū Nisshi" (Class Diary).

Katō launched the Blue Exorcist manga in Jump SQ. in 2009. The manga went on hiatus in July 2021, and resumed in May 2022. The manga has more than 25 million copies in circulation.

Viz Media is releasing the manga in English, and it describes the story:

Raised by Father Fujimoto, a famous exorcist, Rin Okumura never knew his real father. One day a fateful argument with Father Fujimoto forces Rin to face a terrible truth—the blood of the demon lord Satan runs in Rin's veins! Rin swears to defeat Satan, but doing that means entering the mysterious True Cross Academy and becoming an exorcist himself. Can Rin fight demons and keep his infernal bloodline a secret? It won't be easy, especially when drawing his father's sword releases the demonic power within him!

The manga inspired a 25-episode television anime series in 2011, and the Blue Exorcist: Kuro Runs Away From Home OAV also premiered in 2011. The Blue Exorcist movie then premiered in Japan in December 2012. The Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga television anime premiered in 2017 and aired for 12 episodes.

The franchise also includes several novels and a series of stage plays.
