Scotland Loves Anime Screenings Begin in London on Friday

The London screenings of the Scotland Loves Animation festival will begin in London on Friday November 7, running to Sunday November 9. (Screenings in Edinburgh will follow from November 10 to 16.)

New films screening in London and Edinburgh include All You Need Is Kill (pictured above right), The Last Blossom (pictured left), as well as 100 Meters and ChaO.

The venue for the London screenings will be Picturehouse Central, near Piccadilly Circus underground station. The venue for most of the Edinburgh screenings will be the Cameo Picturehouse, but there will be a screening of the film ChaO on November 10 at the nearby Edinburgh Filmhouse, which hosted many of the previous Scotland Loves Anime festivals.

Kenichro Akimoto, the director of All You Need Is Kill, will appear at a screening of the film in London on November 8. In Edinburgh, followed by an appearance by ChaO's director Yasuhiro Aoki, also on November 8.

In Edinburgh, Yasuhiro Aoki will be at the November 10 screening at the Edinburgh Filmhouse, though not at a subsequent screening at Edinburgh's Cameo Picturehouse on November 15.

Saturday November 8

3.15 p.m. All You Need Is Kill, with an appearance by director Kenichiro Akimoto

6 p.m. ChaO, with an appearance by director Yasuhiro Aoki

8.45 p.m, Amazing Nuts! (UK premiere), collection of four music videos by Studio 4°C.

Sunday November 9

12.45 p.m. 100 Meters, directed by Kenji Iwaisawa

3.15 p.m. Gridman Universe (UK premiere), directed by Akira Amemiya

6 p.m. Escaflowne: The Movie, directed by Kazuki Akane

8.15 p.m. Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz (4K restoration), directed by Yasunao Aoki

The Edinburgh screenings are as follows:

Monday November 10

6 p.m. ChaO - Unlike the other Edinburgh screenings, this screening will take place at the Edinburgh Filmhouse, and will feature an appearance by the director Yasuhiro Aoki

Tuesday November 11

8.45 p.m. You're Under Arrest: The Movie, directed by Junji Nishimura

Wednesday November 12
