Which anime sucked...but you kept watching it because you thought it might have gotten good at the end...?

You mean sucked at all or lacked in one or more issues?

If you think about first one:
Saint Seyia - but just because it was aired. Even 10 years ago it was boring and repetitive.

Slayers Evolution and Revolution R- because I was desperately trying to find something good in that zombie. At the end I had to admit that the thing that pissed me off the least was pokemon.

If we talk about anime with great disadvantages I would mention

hana Yori Dango- I see the lack of budget didn't allowed producers to employee professional graphic artists. I was sick every time I saw anyone from main protagonists... but besides it was nice.

Eiken-any sane person would have stopped watching after the OP, but I just had to know how bad it would get. It completely blew my expectations for how bad it would be out of the water by several fold, I never imagined something could be that bad and I was curious to see just how bad it'd be. Wow, just wow.

I've seen some pretty interesting request threads, but never one for the "S&M" of anime.

The rules require you to contribute to the discussion you've started, so if you want any information from me, quid pro quo.

Otherwise, a moderator (generally Tony "The Tiger" K.) will come in, post a link to the rules, and lock this puppy up tighter than the legs of a nun.

I'll take. But, I would like to know what you kept watching even though it sucked. (Would rather not see the thread get locked.)

The World God Only Knows - what a steaming pile of crap. Such and amazing concept that just fell straight into the garbage. Pacing killed this show. The characters, plot, etc. really weren't that bad. It was the 5+ full length insert songs to illustrate that Kanon was an "idol" which was made blatantly obvious throughout 3 whole episodes. Don't get me started on the Librarian and how she was a total waste of time. I couldn't believe that there was actually a series out there that was already slated for a second season before the first ever aired that continued to trump each previous episode with something far, far worse than the one before it.

Maburaho - All I have to say about this one is WTF was someone thinking when they approved this harem *bleep*. I love harems and fanservice but this just takes the cake for pathetic. Could the main male character have been any more of a pushover p*ssy? I watched it, simply because I owned it already. I wouldn't mind parting with the first edition box set though. Ugh. Totally waste of good cardboard, DVD cases, and paper - AND my time.

Yeah. When starting a thread it's customary to at least give your own opinions first. That's how a discussion starts. You say something, back it up with opinions, then people talk about it to each other. Please edit your opening post to include some comments about your own subject.

Ah My Buddah, Aria, He is My Master, Strawberry Panic, and R.O.D. the TV.

Ah My Buddah essentially had nothing good about it. A fan service anime that wasn't enticing and mostly cringe worthy. He is my master kind of falls under the same umbrella though the fan service was more enjoyable the plot and episode to episode were probably worse somehow.

Aria is the worst anime ever made nothing happens in it, it goes on for eternity, and the characters personalities were vague shells that inspired no emotional connection. An eternity of nothingness; the blackhole of anime.

I have an undying hatred for Shizuma which spread through the rest of Strawberry Panic like aids making almost nothing about it seem good to me. The ending was infuriating to me.

R.O.D. just kind of left me with a confused feeling of what did I just watch and why.

Agreed Ah My Buddha is an anime that I call the average of average. Nothing appealing really about it, and only 1 slightly funny joke through the whole series (at least for me).
same goes for Maburaho like someone else said 0_0

Heres a few more:
Tsuyokiss was nothing but a bunch of randomness that really had nothing to grab your attention.

Maria+Holic made me cringe all the way through the entire anime.

Ever watch training and sleeping with Hinako? One being like 40 minutes watching panty shots of Hinako sleeping, and the other of her exercising.

Mission-E had good ideas, but I yawned all the way through the series. To believe that it is a sequel to a series.

Chocolate Underground: Prohibition of chocolate, is that enough for you?

I think I made it through 1 and a half episodes of Maria+Holic before my disgust and anger boiled over. I don't understand why anyone would enjoy that show.

I downloaded sleeping with hinako and spent about 5 minutes skipping through the entire thing confused not realizing until I got to the end that this was something for stalkers to jerkoff to.

I kept watching A Certain Scientific Railgun for about 10 episodes despite the fact that I didn't really like it. The world it's set in seemed interesting, and I kept hoping they'd focus on the world-building aspects instead of that annoying girl who kept trying to molest the protagonist, but eventually I just gave up.

The ending of that show was great the rest of it was a mixed bag of awful filler and decent episodes. That is a Toaru Majutsu no Index spinoff show which is a really good show so you should probably watch that if you thought the premise for the world was interesting.

Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni - I wouldn't say this show sucked but some instances were hard for me to tolerate. For me it took too many episodes in each arc for stuff to happen with too much slow/non sense going on. Maybe I do not care too much for thespoiler[reset] theme of a show. That on top of poor animation quality made this a struggle for me at times. I did finish it though and I'd say it was decent overall. A lot of people tell me Kai is a lot better, which I am currently working on.

Gundam Seed It took me until 25 episodes or so to realize I didn't really care for this that much... but at that point I was too committed. I didn't really care for any of the characters in Seed except Mu Lu Flaga. The combat didn't really do it for me either.

DING DING DING!
THREAD WINNER!
I'd have done the colors, but it is egoist, after all.

Since the OP isn't going to lift a finger to edit the post, I'm going to post before lock.
Because my opinion is the only one you need to have.

If I went by what fans say, it would be anything produced after 2003 (I believe around August 3rd, at 7:06 pm EST).

So, since that's obviously flawed, here's my list:
Otoboko: Man dresses up as a girl to enter an all-female academy. Forget the fact I found the bastard hot, the show was just truly horrid to start off (the reason he's there moreso). Throw in the ghost, and well, the DVD damn near became a coaster.

The ending, however, was rather enjoyable. It certainly didn't make up for the crap, but it didn't make it all too bad, either.

Alien Nine: three elementary school girls (sorry, no pantsu shots in this one) are "voted" to beat the crap out of aliens. It looked promising when they had to wear other aliens to combat them, but the constant whining of one of the girls made me want to rip my ears off.

The art style saved this one. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Baccano!: Oh crap, here comes the hate. Fact is, the series wasn't entertaining until it started to close. Hell, I knew what was going to happen during the thing, so why the hate?

When the story finally jumped the tracks while riding the Train of Time Distortion, it earned itself some respect. Some.

Best Student Council: I nearly burned my lower lip off (while eating chili) the first time I saw this series. The moment: the girls whip out a huge cannon to attack a boy, riding on an aircraft carrier, who wants the president's hand in marriage.

Puchhan, you bastard, you just had to go and save this thing with your puppet antics, didn't you. P.u.p.p.e.t. No, you didn't misread it.

Divergence Eve: And I'm still regretting it.

Munto: Believe me when I say the OVA's running time was a huge factor with this one.

Popotan: Strictly because I thought they were going to smoke the weed, not talk to it. Saving grace... was... um... er... all hell, it's the boobs. I can't deny it.

Magic Knight Rayearth: The only thing missing from this series was the Legend of Zelda theme song. Make no mistake, people. The first season comes off as an animated RPG but the ending made it all worth while. It's the "Didn't see that coming!" (and now that I've ruined it for you...) which saves it.

That, and Hikaru.

As for the second season, the campy delivery made it much more fun and we got to see Hikaru with her hair down (yummy).

Magikano: Quick: what do you get when you fill a harem-esque comedy, in which one girl has a creepy lust for her brother, with poor animation and writing? Again, the out-of-nowhere pull from Uranus (okay, his anus) was a surprise, though truth be told, it really didn't help this one.

Okay, I'll stop here. With 200 titles on DVD I own, I don't have the time to write up 75% of them.
