Episode 4 is, well, interesting. If not for a little twist at the end of the episode this would've been the most insipid episode I've seen in a long time. It's not much of a complain though as previous episodes didn't shine with intelligence either... The real appeal of this show are the pretty character design and lighthearted comedy (which doesn't always work); and of course BOOBS
 . Lets get real, boobs is the only reason this show works, and so far that worked just fine  . Bunny-girl twins are my favourite but buxom Rio and Rina are pretty to look at as well.
Although I probably shouldn't, I do hope the show can get a little more interesting now that we got Rio's best friend entered the scene and the 'serious' antagonist has been foreshadowed. Oh and a little comment on when that annoying little girl with teddy bear interrupted, screaming nonsense, Rio and Rina's (Lina?) dinner... never wanted to kick a kid more. |

Did anyone else get a slightly ... post-coital ... vibe from Rio when she woke up naked, in Rina's bed and said, "That wasn't a dream, was it, Rina?" Or is my yuri horndog radar just a little too sensy?

OK, I started watching Rio streaming. I like the crisp, colorful artwork and lots of girl characters dressed for casino work don't hurt but the main character Rio makes no sense to me. Nor does the story, such as it is.
She's supposed to be -- and apparently is -- a "Goddess of Victory" that can win any game of chance. With her skill she should be able to live a life of choice but her choice is to work. Her job is supposedly a glamorous one (popular casino dealer) but she goes along with being treated like a menial gopher playtoy by the casino owner. She can hand-to-hand defeat a gang of opponents yet meekly and without apparent resentment (other than a little squirming) submits to sexual harassment and exploitation. (Are you okay with this? "As long as the customers are happy!" WTF.) So of course when they set up a conflict -- typically some obnoxious guy -- they pull out an elaborate rendition of a casino game (like a 3 story high roulette table) and you want to see how she figures out how to beat her opponent. But there is nothing to it she just has to bet red or black and she picks one and wins. One round always. It is so predictable and banal that it is not even a spoiler to write that. I guess that Rio is trying to show that casinos are full of hot dealers who want nothing more than to help you win a lot of money!
If you're looking for a deeper meaning, I think you'll end up being disappointed. |

this week ep.5
we have robot girl linda waking up while rio got up with no work suit cause of "last night" with rina so go with a shrimp suit (and no ika musume did not cameo on it). rio, rina, & ania talk with owner about sky casino (did mint just did a fourth wall breaking mention of a potosi?) that opening on the way so work there (while owner mention jiggle boxing, lotion wrestling, busty beach flag, dynamite sisters, & dead or alive paradise GOD MY OH). enter sky casino meet linda take a tour from casino, hologram theater, WATER SLIDES, etc & ania oops reveal headless linda. opening day while "thump thump thump" something go on very "hmm" with everything ok till a "little boy" hack linda. then going fine till linda give too robo-overload challenge rio. in a water slide challenge with demo give ania "oops" the twins & bye clothes. battle start slide riding from many area from roulette slide to a sky outside water slide?! then linda go all hack to the extreme. then all that rio win again while linda head pop out. after all that owner meet mystery lady aka cartia. next ep it going IN SPACE!!! |

Rio wants to be the Top Dealer, like her mother. So she's a Casino Dealer. And she'll fight the 12 other Gate holders. And actually, the way Rio reacts to the fanservice is why I love her. She knows she's hot, she's not some "Eeek, ecchi hentai! *punch*" girl. She just kind of sighs and goes "Whatever." The fact she's not ashamed of her body is a nice refreshing attitude to see. Also, sometimes people take this show a bit too seriously. I mean, the owner has trap doors all over his casino so he can ring 2 random dealers into a giant strip shooter game that he just happens to have. The show's supposed to be high-octane fun with amazing visuals. Also crazy casino games. |

Yeah, anybody looking for logic in this series is going to be disappointed. It's kooky good fun and isn't striving to achieve a micron more than that. This really is a critique-proof show. You either accept it on its own terms, or you decide its not for you. There are no other options.

this week ep we got in ep.6
mint doing space riding but in the holodeck area while rio & mint talking here rina calling rio to meet with owner. (lmao black samurai in space splat) then owner explain that rio got another challenge set a by person who named is "jack" being set by cartia. then mint do some searching from linda's "drawing" which is that black samurai. so scouting from black jack, dice rolling (in a bunny suit mint), slots, even rock paper scissors with ania in a shrimp suit really black samurai loser. rio & risa have some talking then silent call, misery's pic, etc got to be cartia mind games on it. more mint follow black samurai while meeting that "boy" again which lead to black samurai going milk crazy, cheese crazy, yogurt crazy, & end up being samurai to the hospital. then mint bear got blown away till it got "float" & rescue by that "boy". rio is sitting then that "boy" appear & reveal by cartia that "boy" is jack. then match is space pinball in extra level. mint see jack to thank for bear rescue & also find out jack have "power" from bomb disarmed which aka telekinesis then got found by cartia give jack call her a devil give jack want to win to get free. then he we go space pinball then here come phase 3 aka SPACE SHARKS then rio got "oh-no" but her luck to the rescue from new outfit to RIDING THE SHARKS & rio wins. then oh no black samurai pops linda's head & now phase 4 OH NO!!! which cause mint float in space so rio & jack to the rescue & rio stop linda float head which everyone is ok. mint thank jack again by kiss the bear. next ep we got flying, cat helmet like for rio, ania shrimp, rio & risa "expoded steam shower" (IF that is Y-word yea we all knew this would happen), beard chair cowboy, & magic girl etc next ep (especially got to see that rio-risa steam shower). |

ep.7 dang i knew this is get to be something to watch & i so KLAC-ing knew this too good to watch.
another gate give mention rio is tired yet gat battles shorten the lifespan. another of rio rina childhood past is shown. here another gate battle is air shooting while during the battle howard & etc try to figure what cartia is planning. then battle got intense till ania's oops linda head with again give rio the help & cards to win again. after the battle rio is tired with rina checking rio. mint find jack asking for info. rio & rina have some talk, howard trying to figure out how many "tricks" that cartia got, twins overheat linda, that sky resort keep flying till rio loses?!, & a rainbow will appear when all gates card are got. after long day rio & rina bath (give someone was peeping) yet rina got be "Y" on rio. while walking down go that black samurai. magic girl is floating while reading cards of confusion & betrayal. then rio & rina go holodeck to help rio relax but here come that fat cowboy bringing in "show time" with rina hostage to lead road running, falling to almost lava, & "tents" wrapping on rio. then rio see a dark negative showing of her mom & rina of it which cause to NO!!! & pass out. yet all this another gate battle with a person named "king" & got a sword with rina trapped to a table (yet bit show of rina's past) indeed what a to be continued cliffhanger we got. |

I'm actually still watching this even though it appears many are not.
Basically, I had to learn to not expect anything from this series in particular simply because it didn't look like it was actually going to do anything. I'm actually quite surprised by the degree to which they are taking this series. By episode 7, a lot of the ronchiness has faded and the show has actually started taking its plot rather seriously. So seriously, in fact, that I'm wondering just how far the main character will actually push her self. I'm very intrigued by the back story, finding out what happened with her mom (I feel like there's a lot more to this story for some reason), and I'm also interested in the Mint x Jack theme that's starting to come out (hopefully). Overall, I'm pretty amused and delighted with this one even though I'm not really expecting much anymore. The sheer amount of purple is a bit eye gouging but other than that I'm pretty happy. Not the best show of the season, but it's not down right terrible either. I think if this gets licensed over here, I would actually purchase it for the right price (max $35 for the whole box set). |

I've been reading KLAC's episode description instead. To my understanding they're far more interesting than the episode itself.
But no really. Congratulations to those who're still watching it. You've done well. 
Serious now. I'm still watching it, but for the most part it's background noise. It's just ridiculous when a card fight anime turns into duck hunting.
Imagine if they had discontinued cliffhangers? |
