Hi! I've seen the first episode of this series and I have no idea what to expect from it Confused if it's worth seeing or not..
Anybody who've seen it can tell me something about it? Thanks!

Well its based on a manga from one of my all time favorite manga-ka, Shotaro Ishinomori. You should know him as the creator of Cyborg 009, Kamen Rider, Kikaider, Skull Man, Inazuman, etc. I don't know much about Gilgamesh either, but I'm of course very interested in seeing it.

The manga it's based on was from the 70s, and I truely did try watching it all the way through, but the story got in a sort of rut at some point for me, and with that along with HORRIBLE animation, I just couldn't stand watching anymore. I don't know how it ended, but the story seemed to have intresting potential.

From what I've seen its NOTHING like one of his mangas. Don't go expecting something like Cyborg 009 or Kikaider. It bears more resemblance to complex, almost artsy things like Texhnolyze, and that show is better than Gilgamesh. Its good from what I've seen, but not amazing. You might be disapointed if you think its going to be like his other things, and it is rather slow.

Well, its lists him as the creator, so its obviously based off of his work. They may have just decided to go with non-Ishinomori character designs and art style.

No. Not just the character designs and art style, I can find almost nothing in common with his other works. The story is very slow and complex, and quite dark. More in common with things like Eva and lain. Really unconventional storytelling, very jumpy. Its deep and complex, and don't come into it thinking your going to see straightforward battles between androids and heros and such. I'm actually looking forword to seeing it (though I hear the ending is another Eva), but I don't expect a masterpiece. My current dark/artsy anime favorite is Texhnolyze, and I can't see Gilgamesh coming close to that.

Yes, I know. Im not desputing the fact that he created it, I'm just saying its unlike anything he's ever done. Who knows, maybe they decided to put a twist on it and go all experimental. Thats what seems to have been done for the new Blood Will Tell game. They are using Tezuka's story and characters, but the look has been overhauled. While I like Tezuka's art, Im not complaining because the new look seems to really benifit the game, and gives it a new spin. I hear the character designs are by Hiroaki Samura too (which makes sense, because he can draw outragious characters very well).

Well he drew a hell of alot of manga, I'm sure not all of them were of the transforming robot variety. Genma Wars was the complete oposite of that. I think that one had a pretty intricate, complex storyline. Of course he borrowed from the Genma Taisen novels for that one.
