I'm glad it's getting a rerelease. I was cheap and kept waiting to get the first set and before I knew it, it was out of print.

What's the story with all these monolingual releases of MCoG? It was shown in a million countries. Was it so altered for release in different places that it's not straightforward to offer multiple audio tracks?

Have to agree here. I do have interest in wanting to see the series at some point, but only if an official release has its original Japanese audio as an option. I tried watching the 80s English dub still used by Virgil Films on Netflix a while back and it was way too flat for me to survive the first episode on. Fans who grew up seeing the series can have their English dub option. But it would have been nice if the Japanese audio were also included. |

The Saber Rider stuff was also dub-only.
I don't remember ever seeing The Mysterious Cities of Gold. Maybe I will check it out via Netflix (if they get it). I had Saber Rider in my queue but the "very long wait" thing popped up on only the 2nd volume (and the rest as well). Not like it was very good anyways (thought the show was cool as a younger person), it does not hold up very well IMO. |
