Who would be your pick for worst anime fiance(e)? Someone too violent? Someone to clinging? Someone who just plain ignores the one they are engaged too? Self-appointed? All of the above? Post your choice.
My choice would be: Wolfram Von Bieifelt from Kyo Kara Maoh! 1) He's a guy. 2) He hates Yuri. 3) He tried to kill Yuri 4) Did I mention that he's a guy and so is Yuri? |

Gonna have to disagree with some of your points on Wolfram, there. First, remember that in his world, spoiler[it is perfectly normal for two men to marry]. Later on, he spoiler[admits that he actually does love Yuri. At first, yes, he did hate Yuri. But c'mon. He insists on sleeping in Yuri's bed in a frilly pink nightgown!] I kinda find his posessiveness kinda cute.
 Wouldn't want to be on the recieving end of it, but still...

Well I would have to say that it would be Aoi Sakuraba from Ai Yori Aoshi. She is too shy and is a OCD case. Karu was screwed in that house because there was no medium personalities. You had an extreme for every personality type and no happy medium that you could get a long with.

/agree and I woulda been all over Mina! I must say though, In El Hazard(wanderers), I didn't like Princess Rune, I was routing all the way for the other girl(forgot her name), because other than being "beautiful", she didn't have much of any other personality. |

Although, I have to agree that she's too shy, I don't think she's the worst. I mean, at least she cares aboutthe guy, right? She's just.... unrealistic (i guess that's the best way to put it.) Personally, I don't really think we can decide who is the worst fiance without looking at all the circumstances. After all, we have to sympathize with the protagonist in one way or another. |

How was Aoi so shy? She bathes with him and shares a bed with him. She embraces him despite his scars. She kisses him whenever they get some alone time. She desperately wants to express their love as much as possible, but she has to keep it hidden. At the end of the first series, she even lets him play with her boobs.
Aoi just loves Kaoru unconditionally, and she's a sweet person. I don't see what was so extreme about her. She seemed to be the most average, balanced person on the show, other than that she was a little clueless at times. |

I'd like to retract all my statements from my previous post as I forgot one anime when I was thinking it through, and the anime would be Nadia anyone who have seen this anime would know Nadia is spoiler[a complete and utter B!tch to Jean, specially when they finally gotten to Africa and near her hometown.]

Blame that on bad writing and character development--the African episodes (and the island ones) were never intended to be in the original script--they were added on after the show was a smash. The first 22 episodes had Nadia slowly coming out of her shell and even falling in love with Jean, even though there were times when she did get annoying with her bad temper (especially over being jealous of Jean with Electra). IOW, if you ignore the island and Africa episodes, it's easier to appreciate Nadia as a heroine, although I do admit that even on the first 22 episodes there are moments when I don't always like her; but then again, at least she's not as looney as she was in those island or Africa episodes--that was simply poor scripting. 1) Bitchy 2) Stupid 3) Worthless 4) Fat 5) Ugly Any or all of the above characteristics. No order of priority.
And why bother with "fiance" -- as such character would not even be considered for such a thing. |

Awww I like Wolfram, but yeah - I never liked the idea of him becoming Yuri's fiance, even if I am a yaoi fan girl. There's a better guy out there for Wolfram
For me it has to be spoiler[Eclair ]from Ouran High School Host Club. She's only been there for 2 episodes and I rather not see her at all. She's clingy, she's jealous, she blackmailed someone - Every trait I hate in an anime character is in her. |

Akio from Revolutionary Girl Utena would easily take the cake for the worst anime fiance that I can imagine no girl in the real life would want to be engaged to someone like him, because:
He's a womanizer and sleeps around A LOT. spoiler[He even has an affair with his fiancee's mom, can you imagine the state that you will be in if you were in her place and found out about that?] spoiler[He has an incestuous thing for his sister and even sleeps with her occasionally, again can you imagine the kind of trauma you'll be going through if you found out about that?] |
