Not sure how I feel about this.

Its great its getting a movie.. but I'd still prefer a 2nd season, and this'll just delay it for a long time.

Same. After seeing how well the CDs sold I expected a 2nd season, but didn't even consider a movie. ( I have no idea how well DVDs did, but I personally enjoyed the show a lot)

Including the PS3 bundled BDs (where it had a PS3 gravure photo extra for 10 bucks more) it sold about 25k a volume.. so it was a big hit, and easily enough to get a 2nd season.

Well you have to take in to consideration the anime was also a marketing tool for the ps3 ver of the game which was released soon after the anime started. So a full series to market it + the G4U! extras the anime dvds had made sense marketing wise.

It's also why they limited Shiny festa to extra ovas since they couldn't tack on extra stuff anime wise to make as much money like they did with the t.v series. Plus they marketed it more to anime fans since it was just a normal rhythm game ect ect.

Anyway my body is l@dy for a movie, I'm guessing this year we'll also hear something about a new game or something along those lines since I can only see a movie being a good marketing tool for the launch of a new game.

When I saw the headline. A part of me- well; most of me- wanted it to be the Yakuza film that they have a fake trailer for in episode 26 Razz (Or the film Azusa gets a role for in the same episode). Honestly one of those two would be better than a normal im@s film.
Not to say I am not excited for this.

I'm delighted it's getting a movie, but I prefer a 2nd season as well.

None the less... I look forward to it!

Yeah, a movie can't really make me hyped about the show, not when there are 12 idols and all.
It'll probably just focus on the 3 main heroines, once again.
Couldn't care less.

I can't say I expected a Movie, but I am fine with that. I totally love the iDOLM@STER franchise.

But like I have said before in the past. I don't expect to see a season 2 of the anime until the release THE iDOLM@STER 3, if they decide to make a 3rd mothership title.
