Well, usually I'm more of the Action anime type of person, but I watched the first 2 His and Her Circumstances last night. In japanese of course. I just have to say, my eyes have NEVER gotten such a workout with any other anime. There's stuff flying everywhere. I found myself pausing it multiple times. I was pretty satisfied with it, and plan to continue it. I'm assuming it gets even better? Cause this is just the beginning and its already pretty good. Latz

Cool

I have about 1/2 of it dubbed and its one of my favs. The animation is great, the story is great, and I love the OP song Angels Pledge.

I used to be into hardcore action and mecha anime's only til some friends clued me in to Love Hina, Chobits, KareKano, and Naure no Sekai. I have been a fan of these genre's since.

Be aware that the anime doesn't really end properly because the manga was still running at the time. You might want to get that as well. It's called Kare Kano instead of His and Her Circumstances, and I think it'll end up being 16 volumes.

The dub version, besides the merit of less text on the screen, is actually very well done. The voice actors, acting, and dialogue is good. We are lucky that the dubbing for this great show is up to par.

Got to love that teenage angst! Very Happy

Ah, I forgot to congratulate you on broadening your horizons. Just because a series doesn’t have “action,” doesn’t mean you won’t enjoy it. Now go watch Kodocha or something.

Hmm... am I actually one of the few people here that didn't care for the dub? While I think the script itself for the dub was excellent, and the voice acting itself wasn't bad, the problem I had was with the casting for Arima. A male character who is supposed to sound 15 shouldn't have a deep voice that makes them sound like they are in their mid 30's. Not to mention the fact that later on in the series, Yukino is talking about how he's grown taller over the summer and developed a greater maturity... which would usually suggest more of an adult based voice. Given that this is such an introspective show, the plot is usually dialogue driven, making what I hear a very important aspect of the show. So if you hear a voice that just feels wrong, given the impact that it has on what you are watching, it is difficult to move beyond that. Even if it's a dub I don't care for, I usually do spot checks thorought the series, and see if I see any improvements in the direction, acting, etc. Even on the 4th disc, although the merits are there otherwise, I still struggle to enjoy the dub becuase of that problem.

I just didn't want to be accused of saying I didn't like it without at least backing up my reasons. ^_^ The dub overall is a good dub, and I think it deserves reasons if I'm to be critical of it.
