So yeah. The live action Sailor Moon TV show premiered today on Japanese TV. At 7:30 AM on Saturdays... yeah. Anyway, I did wake up to see it, and made a tape too... Did anyone else see this show? Has someone already made subtitles and put it on the Internet? Its pretty much, in my opinion, worth a look if you liked the series... at which point the reason for which you liked the series will probably determine if you like the live action version, or if you hate it.
Anyway, if you saw it, or have something to say, let`s discuss!

Yeah, I just finished watching it raw. I really like it I just hope it's able to stay as good. (That they didn't blow most of the budget on that first episode and stuff.)

I enjoyed it. Stayed very close ro the anime. My only gripe so far is Luna being a plushie then being CGI'd it just looks wierd but it will probly grow on me. Wonder if Bandai will bring it over to the states its not that far fetched of a idea considering how HUGE the Sailor Moon Fandom is. Hell it was one of my first animes I ever saw and that was Raw Super S special at my cousins house follwed but some raw TV sourced DBZ one of there JP relatives sent them.

Now, I thought the Luna-plushie thing came off rather well. In the anime, there was a big to-do about Usagi bringing a cat home because Shingo is allergic to cats. (I don't know if that's in the manga since I haven't read it.) So they skipped all that and went straight to the magical girl goodness

It just looked a little wierd at first. Like I said it will probly grow on me.
On another note did anyone else think Queen Beryl looked like a 80's hair band rocker.

I about lost my lunch laughing when I saw them moving around the plush toy head for close-up shots of Luna. That's the most hilariously cheap thing I think I've ever seen in a professional production.

Which magic talking cat looks cheaper: Luna on live-action Sailor Moon or Salem on Sabrina the Teenage Witch?
Well, I'm still looking forward to seeing a couple of episodes of it regardless...

Luna. At least Salem was a puppet. This looked like a store-bought plushie head.

Nah. Salem sucked. Luna was much better.

Cassandra, come on. You're telling me that because the show was 'fun' that I'm forbidden to point out that Luna was hilariously cheap? Take the blinders off, girl.

For those of you who haven't seen it, this is what Luna looks like in closeup. Now imagine it moving around like it were on a stick and spouting dialogue.

Not at all. You are more than welcome to point out your opinion. However, Luna fit the show perfectly. (Unlike Salem, who was actually animatronic and looked completely fake.) They gave the plushie different expressions and I thought the closeups were pretty funny. (Oh, wait...this is supposed to be a comedy?? Here I thought it was supposed to be serious!) You're making it sound like it sucked.....and it didn't.

Cass, you are being *WAY* too sensitive about this. I'm aware it's a comedy. The Luna head looks cheap. It does. Hilariously so. That doesn't mean the show is bad.
Christ.
