Well, recent addition Hinomaru Zumou (sumo series added to WSJ about 14 or so issues ago) has been looking to be on a great start, as far as rankings go. Plus, it's getting double colour pages in a row; that indicates some level of either hotness, promotion, or both. Non-traditional team sports being the current mini-wave?

On the other hand, the guy made Retsu!! Date-senpai. I recall that being getting a poor reception, beyond the usual expected from getting axed in 20 chapters.

The only other judo anime I can think of is Yawara! which is pretty old and I still haven't finished watching it yet.

But good to see more sports manga getting serialized.

The two most noteworthy things about this manga are that it will be the first manga to be previewed in English Jump under the Jump Start initiative and that it's from the author of Retsu Date Senpai that was panned by everywhere I've read.

Curious about it. I have a friend who used to do judo so I'll see if this is worth recommending to them.

I may have to actually subscribe to the online Jump for a few weeks to show my support for the Jump Start idea. Great marketing Viz!

Sounds like it could be a good manga. Not a whole lot of Judo manga out there, at least recently.

Great news that we are getting it in the UK/US WSJ. Very excited for next issue now.
