To be honest, I can stand Naoka. At least she is open about how she feels. The one character I can never stand is Miki. She is by far the most rage inducing character in the series. She is a manipulator and constantly lies. She acts like she is perfect and not in the wrong when in reality, she was just as bad as Naoka and Shoya when they were little. The moment she blew up at Shoya in the classroom, she solidified herself as the worst character in this series.

Yeah, count me in as someone who just never "got" Miki. I felt like her chapter just illustrated her deeply entrenched denial and posited her as someone who just honestly never learned from her mistakes (and was unaware that she even made any in the first place). Her character development felt frustratingly flat and stagnant, especially when compared to the depth of the other, more well-rounded characters.

I have to agree with the two posts above about Miki. I think she is suppose to represent those types of people that blow past micro aggressions out of proportion but I still can't really put my finger on why she is acting the way she is. This is a series where I will need to re-read it almost immediately after finishing it.
This is first manga series that I have read issue to issue in a LONG time. After each book I'm left with the devastated feeling of "Oh god when is the next one?!?!?!" I can't wait to find out what happens in vol. 7. Especially after the last panel of this one!

Luckily that just came out last week, so there's no more wait for it to be released. I'm hoping to pick it up sometime this weekend or next.
I loved this volume because we got to see into the other characters, but I agree with the comments on Miki. I can't say that I hate her, but at the same time I can't say that I like her either. Naoka, on the other hand, I can say I hate. I read the rest of the series via Crunchyroll and even by the end of the series I still couldn't like her. Miki, at the very least, I could like a tiny bit more, although not by very much.

Thanks for letting me know it was out! I have lost track of my manga print dates recently.
I'll have to pick it up soon.
On a surface level I think I do hate Naoka. As a reader though I'm wondering if there might be a bit more there. Since I'm only able to read the print run I guess I'll find out at a later date.

Finally got around to reading this volume. I have to admit this did take some interesting turns. Yeah, it seems folks are pissed off at Naoka and Miki. It's funny that I didn't recognize who Miki was, but yeah she's pretty bad. I mean at least with Naoka she's pretty straight forward. Miki is a "sneaky" type that hides her BS behind other's allowing them to fight her battles. I'm kind of surprised that the guy (I forgot his name) never picked up on this. Maybe he's one of those types that believes that even someone bad isn't entirely bad and can make a change. But he's seems too passive about it.
Only one way to go.
