Awesome!!!! This is such a fantastic news!!! Hoping that is will be another long season of 52 + episodes and Sawamura finally shines through as the Ace kicking that Furuya from the no. 1 position.

Ryota Ohsaka had pretty much spilled the beans already, but I'm so glad this show is coming back. The manga is already up to chapter 146, so hopefully the anime can keep running for a long time before catching up with the source material, even if that means making it slower-paced than the previous series.

Interesting I've been watching it at the moment and it's good....but it's also kind of boring and repetitive.
Compared to say Kuroko's Basketball, Haikyuu and Yowamushi Pedal it's the worst of the lot. It is better than Free though. The main character in it is absolutely dreadful though. |

That's what we were hoping for after the big news announcement ^^
I really hope we'll get more than 12 or 24 episodes. Make it 50 episodes or more

This season will be amazing especially since we'll finally see the match against Komadai. I'm curious about some of the cast for the new members too.
But that also means all the hatred will be back. For real I've never seen this much hatred in a sports animes against one character. Furuya is my bae, he's everything, he is working hard and he does NOT deserve all this hatred he got with all the past seasons. Fandom is really horrible although it's a good sports anime. If you don't like Sawamura you're harassed and hated. And this is not going to change with this new season I bet you. So yeah watching it but dodging all fandom interactions :/ |

I've always like Furuya a lot, certainly moreso than Sawamura at the beginning. But Eijun finally turned into a person instead of just a blustering trope, so it will be with mixed feelings when he inevitably outshines Furuya, who has also come a long way as a character. I'm rooting for them both.
But I agree, I've never understood the intensity of the fan hatred for Furuya, even if he's not your fave character. |
