Wow, he's really young. It seems a lot of people die young in Japan, for varying reasons, and it's really depressing all around. RIP.

Oh wow, what unexpected, sad news. wowaka isn't my favorite Vocaloid producer, but I've enjoyed some of his songs. RIP, and condolences to his family and friends.

To my knowledge, this is the third legend among vocaloid producers that we have lost at such a young age. First Shiina Mota in 2015 at the age of 20, followed by Samfree that same year at 31, and now wowaka.
It's such a tremendous loss for the vocaloid community; even though he wasn't as active as a vocaloid producer as he used to be, he's still so well loved and thought of simply because his music played a large part in introducing a lot of us to the vocaloid community, and in some ways he really shaped our perceptions of how vocaloid music should sound. His sound was so unmistakable in it's uniqueness that I sincerely doubt the rest of the band will be able to carry on as Hitorie without his input... |

wowaka was one the few artists that got me into Vocaloids back in 2010. Definitely a legend in my book. I'm going to miss him. RIP wowaka.

I knew wowaka’s name from his work on vocaloid (and enjoyed his songs back in the day) but I had NO idea he was the vocalist for hitorie! I literally just discovered them and bought their cd from iTunes featuring the Boruto ending and just wow.. a major loss to the music community. Poor thing was so young too.

The official Hitorie website stated he passed due to acute heart failure.
Rest in peace |

Oof. That's definitely a shame, considering "One Me Two Hearts" is one of those songs I really enjoyed listening to.

Damn. I knew Wowaka songs for a long time, and even after he break-up from producing Vocaloid music to make a name as himself ("Unhappy refrain" was the song about his feelings during that time), he was a good vocalist with calming voice and a good musician.
That's really hard to hear, especially to die in such young age. |

Damn, wowaka was one of the first vocaloid producers's music I came across and enjoyed listening to with my friends. Can't believe he's gone at such a young age. My condolences to his family, friends and fans.

heart attack at age of 31? What is that.. another typical death from overworking?

Wow, what in the world? I think his work was the first that made take vocaloid music seriously, as more than a joke or a fad.
I want to link to a short biographical anecdote Mary Cagle wrote about Hitorie and Wowaka back in 2014 when she was teaching English in Japan. Rock on. |
