Date: Feb. 13-18, 2008
Location: Taipei World Trade Center

Announced guests (by the order of announcement):

Riyoko Ikeda (mangaka of The Rose of Versailles) by Taipei Book Fair Foundation (TBFF). A cosplay contest will be held (preferably as extravagant Bourbons, but one can also dressed like a beggar girl in Paris slum Razz ), and 50 nominees will be invited to a party and receive an autograph from Ikeda-sensei, and the winner will be awarded with a special gift, as well as the opportunity to present a flower bouquet to Ikeda-sensei.

Yashichiro Takahashi and Noizi Ito (author and illustrator of Shakugan no Shana, respectively) by Kadokawa Media (Taiwan) Co., Ltd. The Shana anime movie will be premiered at the convention hall (licensed by Mighty Media Co., Ltd.), and both guests will watch it together with their fans. Kadokawa will also release Ito-sensei's second artbook Kaen at TIBE 2008.

The guest list will be constantly updated. As far as I know, there are at least one mangaka and one seiyū of two (different) extremely popular manga/anime series have been invited, but since there's no official confirmation I can't disclose them here yet. Wink

More guests have been announced yesterday. Four more Japanese names:

Hot ones:

Kagami Yoshimizu, mangaka, Lucky Star. While there's no official activity announcement, it's most likely volume 5 of her manga will be released at TIBE 2008.

Kappei Yamaguchi, seiyū, Ranma Saotome of Ranma ½; Inuyasha of Inuyasha; L of Death Note. It's the first time for Mighty Media Co., Ltd. to invite seiyū for TIBE.

Artsy dude:

Inio Asano, mangaka, Solanin. Well, while he's not as famous as those listed above, his storytelling and art style are loved by a few. Both What a wonderful world! and Solanin are available in Taiwan for quite some time, so could it be Nijigahara Holograph? Tohan is known for niched titles.

Er...who?

Chiaki Itō, actress/singer/idol. No idea why Mighty Media invites her for Honey and Clover; she's not even part of the cast.
