Whatever SSD you already own wouldn't be fast enough. The expansion SSD is identical to the internal drive and runs PCIe 4.0 along with some neat tricks to reduce latency and maintain speed over time.

XBox One games and earlier can be run from a normal external drive.

4k 120fps huh, I'd like to know what game they hit that on... I realize they said up to, but it seems shady to use that as a selling point knowing full well 'next gen' games won't ever hit that.

I think I'm calling BS on this. I have an NVME SSD, and no game has ever come remotely close to my drive's max.

Pardon my ignorance, but this seems powerful enough to be a gaming PC, and yet restricted to only run games and nothing else.

Will it really be that much cheaper than an equivalent gaming PC? Are there any other reasons to get one?

The console looks like a PC already, minus the monitor, mouse, and keyboard
