Himitsu is one of my favorite manga series, and I wish I could be excited about the news, but it has a terrible luck with adaptations. :/
For one, Japanese TV drama adaptations are infamous about treating their sources more like just inspirations, changing and adding a bunch of things for no good reason other than being closer to TV drama staples/tropes. And then the live action movie was also pretty bad, especially as an adaptation (it had about as much to do with Himitsu as the Scarlett Johansson GITS movie did with any other GITS incarnation) but also as a standalone movie, and the Madhouse anime was just really bad all around, with some really weird and pointless changes (why would you make one of the main characters a siscon? you don't need to be a siscon to be traumatized by the grisly murder of your sister!).
I'll check it out of course, but I've burned myself so many times with Japanese TV adaptations that my expectations are really REALLY low.

I actually really like the live action movie. It combined some of my favorite genres: philosophical sci-fi and serial killer detective mystery. Although it's still my only exposure to the franchise. I gotta get around to watching that anime sometime... If the manga ever got a physical English release, I'd definitely check it out.
