I believe the correct spelling of the alcoholic beverage is chu-hi. This is from the shortening of "shochu highball." Many you buy in stores have Chu-Hi on the can, sometimes Chuu-Hi also. In addition, a basic chu-hi uses flavored carbonated water or most often some type of citrus soda. The word highball is simply the name for a flavored soda water mixed with various types of strong alcohol.
I enjoy chu-hi's myself. My favorite flavor to use is grapefruit. |
