OK, so we got our Japanese voice announcement. Are we expecting an English voice announcement anytime soon? Because I'm waiting to see if Emily Blunt will reprise her role for the English dub for this anime given that Edge of Tomorrow was the live-action adaptation of All you need is Kill. I don't know who could voice Keiji and I don't expect Tom Cruise to be voicing the character for this dub.
Reminder: the cast of Scott Pilgrim live-action film reprise their role for the anime adaptation, so if they can do it. Then that mean it should be possible to have Emily to reprise her role for the anime film. |

I'm really just wondering why this show looks the way it does. It doesn't look like the light novel, it doesn't look like the manga, so why does it look like someone drew Code Lyoko characters from memory in the dark?

Looking at the other Studio 4ºC's ChaO news that comes just before this, it seems that they're making this look their trademark. Honestly looking at the ChaO trailer, it looks beautiful. It's originally from a novel, so I guess they're taking a liberty with the look (novel illustration is not relevant here as, unlike original manga even with separate artist and writer, it's not really as collaborative with different edition/publication can easily change the illustration/illustrator). |

Honestly i doubt it since in the novel Rita is supposed to be American while the Movie made her British to align with Emiliy's nationality. Not to mention that most characters got significantly changed for the movie. For example: Keiji was japanese, Dr. Carter was a Native American female and Bartolome was Latino-Asian; all of them became white dudes. So using the movie cast is not only unlikely but also very much out of touch. |

I'm aware of that, and that should not stop Emily from reprising her role given that she has done one anime voice job. Also, she has played American characters before, so I'm highly confident she could nail this role again.
Beside Keiji, we don't know how many character are there. But we don't need all of the cast from the movie (beside Emily Blunt) to reprise their role. |

Great casting from the leads!
I doubt anyone from the live-action movie will be involved with the dub. |

We don't know that until it's confirmed, and if Scott Pilgrim Takes Off didn't tell you, yes, it's possible to bring back the casts to reprise their roles. But, I only think Emily Blunt could reprise her role for this one. Stunt casting seems to be big these day and it's already spreading to anime too. So that's why I wouldn't be surprise if they get Emily Blunt to reprise her role for this one. |

I really doubt they'll in any way acknowledge Edge of Tomorrow. It's a decade old movie that at best barely turned a profit (and pretty much the only reason it did is due to its performance in South Korea and China) and changed the title outside of Japan anyway, I don't think enough people care enough about the movie to even bother referencing it or doing stunt casting based on it.

I want to remind you that Warner Bros Japan is behind the anime adaptation, and this is the same Warner Bros that was responsible for Edge of Tomorrow. So, I do expect WB (assuming they're handle the US release) to do some form of celebrity/stunt casting for the English dub and hence why I think they could bring back Emily Blunt to reprise her role for this one. I don't expect the other casts from the live-action movie to do voicing the other characters unless the move had some original characters made exclusively for the animated film and maybe they could try to put some of the live-action cast to voice those "original" characters as fanservice. I also want to remind you that we are living in an era where anime has become more mainstream then a decade ago in the US (hence the rise of stunt casting in anime). |
