anyone been watching it? show is trippy as hell. it's like every time you think you know what's going on, you don't. definitely one of the best animes so far to come out this season.

I've seen up to episode 5 and it's quite good. Is episode 6 out yet? I think the DVDs start rolling out in another week or two if I'm not mistaken.
Like all his other stuff, Kon's writing/directing shows he's pretty much one of the greats.

Ep 5 floored me, it was brilliant. Kon is one of the best artistic social critics in Japan right now, and his characterization of Shonen Bat's retreat from the world really impressed me. These are exactly the issues Japanese students are facing. It seemed certain that Kon and Minakami had the fourteen year-old Kobe killer from several years ago in mind when they set out to make this episode. The name the kid made up for himself was "Seito," or Holy Battle, and he claimed to be carrying out the wishes of a god that he made up. The "Seisenshi" holy warrior identity was probably a reference to that. Sure this kid's personal religion came from a video game, but you can't just put the Kobe killer on screen without any comic relief, can you?
Can't wait to see the rest, and how this ties into the victimization theme he's already established.

Well the first few episodes introduce the idea that a traumatic episode or violent episode somehow freed these people from the troubles of their lives...
Now that we've met the character whow as setting them free...
I'm not entirely sure where he's going with the show.

yeah 6 is out if you look for it. HOO BOY!!! wait til you see this episode:
it turns out the kid isn't the Shounen Bat. also at the same time Tsukiko got hit at the beginning the old lady was watching from the shadows, and saw her hit herself.
it's taken quite the turn for the weird, can't wait to see how this one ends.

Hm. Guess I'm completely wrong then. Well, it's not the first time. It was a nice theory while it lasted.

Well I just saw episode 6 and it was another good one
Now I know that the suggestion in this episode is that:
The Suspected Kid they caught as Shonen Bat is not the one....but I think a lot is still open here and that "definitive" statements such as that cannot be relied upon 100%...
