It looks like Tokyopop is doing a new survey where they are asking people what three anime they would like them to license next.

Currently I have not seen any of the anime they have done except for a *very* small part of GTO and Real Bout High School. Since I know Tokyopop is doing a very good job with their manga, I’m assuming that they could probably do anime just as well as anyone else. And even if their dubs are bad, I’m sure they know how to sub an anime.

So before I cast my vote, I wanted to see what other people think of Tokyopop's ability to do anime. I'm more than willing to see them take a shot at any anime. And since I’d do anything to see Jungle Guu licensed, you can bet I’ll be tossing them my vote for that one. Wink As for the other two.... I wonder what would happen if they got Naruto and the third Tenchi OVA.... (Hmm, something tells me there are some people who might hurt me for joking like that Razz)

All I've seen of their work, really, has been Great Teacher Onizuka. I thought they did a good job on it, though, and at this point I don't care who gets Maria-sama ga Miteru as long as someone licenses it and gives it a fair treatment. So, of course, that was the first one I threw in there (also added in Midori no Hibi and Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu since I had a lapse of memory...probably shoulda put Tenjou Tenge or Full Moon wo Sagashite since odds are ADV's gonna snag Fumoffu if anyone...eh, too late now).

And since I can't really see them making a "tricked out" dub for MariMite...yeah, I have confidence in them.

I already filled it out a couple hours ago, and I just submitted the titles Matantei Loki RAGNAROK, Fullmetal Alchemist *Yeah, I know, they have pretty much no chance of getting this* and Sailor Stars *couldn't help myself*. Everything else I want to see over here is pretty much licensed already.

Geneon holds the rights to Tenjou Tenge, don't they?

And I can't believe you didn't put Full Moon wo Sagashite... Anime cry
As long as they do a good job with it, I don't care who gets it. But,it's gonna be a hard one to do for anyone who does decide to license it.

I had Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou (even if I already have all of the Region 2s) and Planetes, and, for the sake of a third option, Twin Spica.

Guess I'm in a "mundane future" mood, though I don't mean "mundane" in a bad way, just in a "more ordinary than Star Trek" way.

Personally I would rather not see Tokyopop license anything.

Well I'm a dub man and I prefer listening to dubs. But all the dubs that Tokyopop have done are pretty much ... really bad. I'm almost afraid of watching the Marmelade Boy Scrapbook and seeing how that dub is.

Now for the three I put

Full Moon wo Sagashite
Kanon
Kamikaze Kitou Jeane

I'm just glad they brought it over to the States and put it on DVD. This is my 2nd favorite series of all time. Unfortunately, I the dub is utterly detestable.

GTO being one of the worst I heard, by anyone. I regard this show highly and, therefore, wish it could've been more decent.

And as for what I'd like to see them license, I wouldn't mind Tekkaman Blade if no one else ever reclaims it. Smile
