Me personally, anime depicts the life I wish I had. When I'm watching Heat Guy J or Cowboy Bebop, I can picture myself in that world. The action, the story line, the feel, all of it just intrigues me.

Its kind of the same thing, but it also helps me remind my self what type of person i want to be and what type of person i already am.

I would love the world to be that simple. but as humans we don’t just live out one story we live out many. this in turn causes us to move forward. with out the multiple stories of our lives we would be stuck in a loop, doomed to relive a vicious cycle. Who would want to live through there first heart brake over and over. I understand know why I cant remember past a year or two and its because I leave it behind me. There are a few things that I can recall but they are only of revelations. it is a simple philosophy and it may be a bit naive but I am happy with this. a constant reminder to live now and to love every minute. sorry i think i got carryed away

I love the beautiful Animation styles and the rich storylines, since most can inspire really good fanfics/art.

That, and all the comic momments of Excel Saga and Dragon Half. Laughing

Of course, I was 4 years old, but hey! It's never to early to start!

I'll be honest since none of the guys will admit it: I watch it for the fanservice. Oh yea, and a good story occationally. I'm not a hardcore fan, so I wouldn't watch too much anime though, but I hear many people become jaded and start complaining about new anime or anything in particular and how they don't match up with such and such series. I personally would get sick of it if I watch anime every day, so when I do watch some anime, it's still fresh to me.

Well, why not?

I simply frown apon myself when I look back to my younger days when I knew nothing of anime nor of the wonderful things it can do.

Anime like...

Rurouni Kenshin, which taught me humility

Cowboy Bebop taught me how to not take everything so personally.

Trigun which taught me to respect life and to live it as well.

Grave of the Fireflies which showed me what war really can do.

and Serial Experiments Lain which taught me not spend all my time obsessing over my computer and doing things like posting on Animenewsnetwork.com... oops! Laughing

All joking aside, I don't know what I would do without anime. It's much MUCH more then cartoons. It's an art form. and for that... I just love it. It's also a great (if not expensive) form of entertainment.

I'm not going to give any grandiose answer like "it taught me so much about life" or "it's so deep" or "it's so much better than everything else," because quite frankly, none of them apply. Rather, I'm just going to say that it impressed the hell out of me the first time I saw it, I stuck with it, and even though it does strike me as much less "breathtaking" nowadays, I'm too far in to turn back (and nor would I want to). No life lessons, no sense of elitist superiority over "those bad men in Hollywood/Disney/Evil Evil America," I just...

Were you really tuaght life lessons by anime.

I mean Im not saying there are not lessons within animes but I wouldnt say any more so than any other form of entertainment.

I think the main reason I watch anime is becuas it offers something a little differnet. Its always good to watch different something different every now and then. I actually enjoy American movies more but its good to watch some anime to see stories conveyed from a different culture and in the form of animation. Also anime has certain themes and ideas that are not displayed in other forms of media entertainment.

though some of us don’t get life lessons out of it.
it dose put feelings and emotions on a level that is simple enough that most people can take in and feel for themselves or more simply on a level that most can understand. there are many of us that when watching have a comfortable feeling, actually it hard to describe but toughs of us who have felt it know.
I hope that your anime viewing doesn’t start to go down a path of habit but wish that you could one day .......... well I guess it is better for you to learn for your self.

wish you the best Neutral
