Don't forget you can still win free tickets to the movie-through Akadot-if you send in your info before 1 p.m. PST

Edit: I would highly recommend if it you haven't gotten tickets now, because anime sells out fast at the AFI. (Well except for Spriggan. :( )

Here's hoping this might get some *gasp!* coverage, unlike it's premier at the BAAF, which nobody attended, it seems.

Or if they did, they must really not wanna talk about it.

And "Spriggan" is never sold out? That's wierd! It has lots of blood! And it sucks!

I think AICN covered Millenium Actress at BAAF. And I wish Spriggan was more successful, cus Project Arms looks lame.

Well, ANN did post my own review of it after I saw it in July 2001 at FantAsia, though if someone else wants to do a different review here, I wouldn't be offended (provided my review isn't removed).

Tenchi: I was thinking the same thing about fanboys ignoring it, especially since there was such a small turn-out for the Saturday AFI. Even though the room itself was quite small, there were still seats left over! In fact(gratuitous plug)check out my article which came out when Dreamworks first picked up the movie; I make fun of the fan-boys. You can read it at http://www.jaggedteam.com/bin/shownews.cgi?id=1039

Hey, man, I liked Road to El Dorado, a fair bit more than I liked Shrek, actually. Chel was simply the sexiest (I usually use a 3-word phrase where the first word is "most" and the third word is "inducing" and the second Beavis and Butthead's word for certain physiological reaction, but I don't want Tempest or Cookie banning me or locking this thread) cartoon character, American or Japanese, I'd seen in ages. Otherwise your spoof of fanboy reactions is quite dead-on, I'm afraid.

BTW (nothing to do with GATSU's post), I'd love to read a review of Millenium Actress written by someone with a deep knowledge of Japanese SIN-EH-MAH (the movie snob way of pronouncing "cinema", though it's the way I pronounce it too, living in KAY-beck). The main problem with my own review was that I really only "got" a few of the movie references (the truck from Tampopo and Gojira/Godzilla) even though I've seen an ecclectic selection of Japanese movies myself (things like Ballad of Narayama and A Taxing Woman and High/Low).

Kon has so many inspirations, he couldn't even list em all. Throne of Blood is one of them though.
