I would to report an error in anime #578, namely Devilman TV series. I have posted the correct picture, along with a url adress. TV devilman is actually blue. The one you have is kindda grey. It is the devilman of the manga I think, and it is misleading for those who want information about the series.

Thank you for the excellent site, I benefited alot from it.

Yours
Khalifa

Sometimes he's blue, sometimes he's green: Mr. Green

(from http://www.toei-anim.co.jp/lineup/tv/devilman/ )

Just FYI: There is a sticky thread for Error Reports at the top of thread list. You can use that thread in the future.

Welcome to ANN! Very Happy

EDIT: Toei just changed their web directory sturcture.

Sometimes blue, sometimes green... but actually he was RED! Laughing

Cover of the first edition of the manga (1972):
CENSORED
That same year the TV series changed his color to green:
CENSORED
So in following re-editions the color in manga (covers) also vary between green and red, and sometimes blue...

Devilman isn't really red, that's just the dramatic coloring they like'd to do on the Devilman manga back in the day. If that really was supposed to be red then I would almost say that's Amon, not Devilman, since Amon actually has been shown as being red many times.

Got any more? Still looks like dramatic coloring to me. Anime smile + sweatdrop That first one looks more like the normal flesh tones we often see today. The second one shows him as entirely red; skin, fur, head wings, everything is red, I'm sure you can agree that that is certainly wrong. And that last one, he's certainly red, I'll give you that one, but he's also bursting out of the plannet, looks like more of those great Japanese dynamic effects.

Sorry, I'm really not trying to disagree for the sake of disagreeing, I just need to see this. Do you have any pics of red Devilman that aren't from the cover of a manga or atleast not doing things as outlandish as standing on planets or bursting out of them? Wink

Heh, I'm going to be a real stinker here. Those first two came from the anime where he deffinatly appeared more "flesh" colored than red. That last one is a repaint of the Fewture Models Devilman which was originally done in a blue tone and later a "flesh" tone. I also have trouble counting it because it's what they called a "Tribal Edition" and was part of a series of red repaints, there was also a red Akira, and red Amon. (never discuss with an old J-toy collector... Wink )

No problem. I have more:

And this is my irrefutable proof. As you may know, although mangas are in B/W, the magazines where the series appear publish a few pages in color or bi-color. This is the first page of one of the first chapters of the original "Devilman" published by the "Shûkan Shônen Magazine" (yes, I know, in a cover of that same magazine "Devilman" also appears in blue, but I only said that the original was red)

You may know a lot about toys, but OLD MANGAS ARE MY SPECIALITY.

But I think now it's my turn:

Can you post, PLEASE, a cover of the first book of the first edition or re-edition of the original Go Nagai manga in which Devilman does not appear red?
Please, please, I want to see it... Shocked[/img]
