So if you're around my age which is 25. I am curious what you have been watching recently. Shows like Tenchi Muyo and Gundam Wing were my first Anime I fell in love with. Then I'd go rent whatever I could get from Blockbuster or Hollywood video. Newst Anime I have seen is Blood+ and FMA. But I miss those "old" shows. Just wondering if there is anything like that now a days?

Blood+ and Fullmetal Alchemist aren't exactly new either. A lot of people would consider those two "old" now too.
Personally, I follow whatever's interesting from the current season in Japan and stream the shows I want to watch legally. I'm currently watching Accel World, Aquarion: Evol, Bodacious Space Pirates, Dusk Maiden of Amnesia, Eureka 7: Astral Ocean, Fate/Zero 2, Lupin the 3rd: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine, Sankarea, Space Brothers, and Upotte!. |

Well, at 24, and having been introduced to otakudom by DBZ via Toonami in '98, I'm certainly qualified to respond.
I'm currently enamored by Kids on the slope: an awesomely inspiring tale of youths with a solidified friendship through the power of music, set in post-war Japan. It's heartfelt, soulful and every aspect of it is just profound. It seems like something that's based on a true story. Accel World speaks to my inner geek and need for escapism. But, Kuroyukihime and Haruyuki's relationship and its development is interesting, and must admit that seeing the little butterball get the ladies is rewarding, in and of itself. Canaan is one of the most badass shows I've seen in a while; it has action, suspense, drama, and possibly some romance. Watching it, I get this sensation of an amalgamation of Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~ and Madlax or something. It's definitely Bee Train. Excited about Toonami's return, btw.

I still watch Yu Yu Hakusho!!!
But an anime that I watch now and should be put on TV is D.Gray-man. It sort of needs a TV deal, Funimation tried to get it there, but couldn't, so it failed over here. They're trying to finish it without it hurting them. -.- Damn Denstu for wanting for more money from Funimation. |

I'm watching Shiki on Blu-Ray. Pretty good series.
Then on streams slowly watching... Accel World, Kids On The Slope, Lupin III: Woman Named Fujiko Mine, and Tekman. Enjoying them all to some degree And on TV, watching Bleach, Casshern Sins & Deadman Wonderland every weekend on the new Toonami!

Hello!
I heard they're resurrecting Toonami and that makes me rather ecstatic. I mean, it was my gateway to the anime world...as much as I hated the editing and the dubbing of Sailormoon and DBZ I owe Toonami a lot! When they killed it, I was shocked and almost felt as if a piece of my adolescence died with it. 
What am I watching now? RUROUNI KENSHIN UNCUT. But dubbed. 
Ah nostalgia~ And for newer anime, Yumekui Merry. Heard the ending sucks. Don't really care. So many endings to my favorite anime suck...I should be immune by now.
I would like to give Outlaw Star a proper re-watch too one of these days. (Uncut and dubbed)
I marathon-ed the uncut dub a couple years back! Couldn't stop. It's one of the best shounen-fighting series out there...and when it comes to tournament-style fighting, I say it wins over everything else! (I love Flame of Recca too but the manga >>>anime)

With
partially watched and still kind of watching them. Most of them don't really "feel" like older animes (partially because they are all new). The closest would be Hunter x Hunter (based on a decently old manga) and Zetman. Suggestion threads aren't really allowed (which this isn't...exactly), so I'll just non-nonchalantly ask if you've watched Ghost in the Shell. It's older, but not ancient, and I enjoyed watching it on Adult Swim during the Toonami days. As others have mentioned: Shiki is more recent, but has a When They Cry vibe to it. I saw Blood+ mentioned, so I might as well mention Blood-C. |

I can't really get into it. It is probably too sci-fi techie for me...I'm really stupid when it comes to that kind of stuff. People actually have to explain to me what's going on during battles with mecha. ._. lol
The music is amazing though! |

Which I can entirely understand. I watched the 2nd Gig probably about 8 years ago (12 for me then) and I remember one of the episodes when she was in a virtual room with other people on the net talking about (I think) the Individual Eleven and I had little idea what was going on. At this moment, I'm not entirely sure if I even watched Solid State Society or not. As I said, I was watching it on Adult Swim and I'm sure I missed some episodes along the way, which would undoubtedly add to the confusion. So I just watched Solid State Society and confirmed that I had watched it before; I understood it more fully than the first time, but the political drivel can be overwhelming at times. As an older fan that used to check out Toonami, I now take advantage of the many different outlets to view anime. I alternate watching a few episodes on Blu Ray/DVD of newer & older releases, older classics on Netflix, and newer shows on Hulu, Crunchy or other streaming services.
Basically I like to mix it up a lot, and rarely marathon one show from beginning to end. But on the other hand, I don't like to have more than several shows in rotation, otherwsie I start forgetting where I was with a show if I am watching too many different things. It is great to do this on your own schedule instead of TV network schedules like back in the toonami days. Currently in rotation: Blu Ray: Shigirui Death Frenzy DVD: Ray Netflix: Blood +, D Gray Man, Baccano, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood Hulu: Haganai, C3 Recently purchased discs not yet watched: Princess Jellyfish, Occult Academy, Dream Eater Merry, Infinite Stratos |

Not much at all really. I have been burned out from anime a bit. I still have a ton of DVDs I have not even touched and stuff on Crunchyroll and Lupin to catch up on as well.

I own the old box sets, with all 32 discs in the 5 boxes, have to get up every hour and a half to change the disc. Looking forward with getting the blu-ray...someday, I'm in no hurry with it. |

I am now 20 and having been a watcher of Dragonball Z, Gundam Wing, and the various others on Toonami at the time, I have, surprisingly enough, branched into a lot of things that would not have flown on Toonami. Ironically, I have been on a Key Animation binge. I went through both seasons of Clannad and decided that it was a masterpiece of sorts. I am now going through Air, though I took a break from that to watch both seasons of Sekirei just because I was in the mood.
