WTF??? Now this is just crazy. I wonder what they'd want with it. Well, at least they aren't stealing sewer drains. Economy must be bad when you resort to stealing hair off statues.

Bronze can fetch a decent price on the scrap market, so it's no surprise people would take easily removed but not so easily recognizable pieces off statues. Maybe that one Austrian town could give them some pointers.

I know about statues stolen for the bronze... but just a single strand of hair? O.o looks more like prank to me...

A full statue is more recognizable(and harder to move). Steal the hair and you could probably sell it as-is.
