So, I picked up my volume 10 at my local Kinokuniya store today. It certainly was an interesting ending to a long ten year run. Though as the series was getting to the end it seemed to be calmed down from the tension that had been building up to the moment that made the series as action oriented as it was throughout. Still, the ending provided closure to what had been one of the most amazing series that I had ever read. In the end, Walter died, as his body had not been properly processed with the transformation, and therefore he was a failed experiment. But not before he took the Doc with him in an explosion. Seras killed the Lieutenant, and Integra and Seras both killed the Major, but not before discovering that he was a robot. Then they fly home.
In the last chapter, which pretty much is the epilogue, we see everybody thirty years later. Integra is an older woman, but has not lost her physique. She's just as active as she was thirty years earlier. Seras, with the curse of immortality, has not changed at all. And in the end, Alucard does come back. In order to eliminate the whole virus problem of Schroedinger, Alucard had to internally kill of his medians one at a time, which amounted to millions of them. Which is understandable to take thirty years to have to come back. And he takes a drink of blood from Integra's finger.
I have to give props to Hirano, he certainly came up with a great series that will stick out there for quite some time. This series recieves a masterpiece rating from.

Just asking, but how much is there? I can't find any accurate or complete chapter and volume lists.
Wikipedia says there are 89 chapters total but that all of them haven't been put into volumes in Japan or the US yet and that there are nine volumes so far.
How many volumes and chapters are there and how many are available in North America?

Good to see that he was able to finish it in ten volumes as promised. I wonder how long till Dark Horse can get the last volume out in English? Their site has release dates up to November, but it's not listed there, so we might have to wait until next year.

I wouldn't trust everything that Wikipedia says. Since I actually have the tenth volume, I can say that the series does end in ten volumes. So far as we all know Dark Horse has only released nine volumes of the series, but since the tenth one is out in Japan I'm sure that we'll be seeing it sometime in the United States. Though considering how long it takes Dark Horse to actually release each volume, it could take a while. Chapter numbers are never specified in the books in Japanese, so I have no idea how many chapters there are exactly.

I believe Volume 10 constitutes chapters 80 to 95.
