This is one of THE upcoming animes I'm looking forward to during the summer, any idea how they'll fill in the gaps for the whispered?

Maybe they will just come out and say it.
"THE WISPERED ARE..." just like that.

It's already confirmed that this one'll be a decidedly serious-ish take on the two Owaru Day-By-Day novels (whereas the first Full Metal Panic! covered roughly the first three, if I'm not mistaken), which apparently means more of a focus on Mithril. Luckily, this will obviously mean enough Mao & Kurz to make up for their neglect in Fumoffu. And as long as there's still plenty of Sousuke/Chidori interaction & at least some noteworthy level of comedy, I'm certain we'll have a third solid winner to add to the Full Metal Panic! franchise. I'm seriously anticipating this one.
Anyone else get the feeling Mikuni Shimokawa will be doing the theme songs for the series once again? I sure hope so, myself.

They will have made a huge mistake if they didn't get Mikuni Shimokawa for the OP/ED again.

Jesus Christ Dosent that man die. Good lord he's one of my all time faviorite anime villians. Gonzo has really done good job with this show. It almst makes up for the horror that was hellsing. I really look foward to the newest seiries.

Use spoiler tags next time. Thanks a million for ruining what I'm sure will be a majour plot twist in Full Metal Panic!: The Second Raid for me.

I heard the second raid is only stand-alone episodes and does not have a story arc and that it mostly just goes for the comedy of the school. Is this correct?

You're thinking of Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu.

Sorry about that Anyways I'm pretty sure that Kaname will somehow in a way be involved again, just I'm sure on a much larger or smaller scale.
