Cool...If there's any indication that there might be more anime in the future...

more novels mean higher chance of more anime. that's the indication.
The anime is popular enough for a second season and the bluray sold way above average.

I'm looking forward to reading it. Finally Chifuyu takes center stage.
I'm also glad that they replaced the artist, as the previous one wasn't very good.

What the goddamned hell, just when I thought this affront to literature had ended...

If I recall correctly, the new artist also worked on Xenosaga.
Could be cool.
Let's just hope the writing's gotten better. I really like the concept and premise but sometimes the writing just...blah.

I bet he hasn't actually read any of the novels anyways. You should only criticise what you've actually experienced.

The anime was amazingly horrible, at the very least.

hmm this is best chance yet for a new anime announcement but im rather curious as to how there going to continue it especially after the plot deviated a bit from the LN at the last few eps

I thought the anime was pretty good. And as far as I can tell the only major deviation is changing Silverio Gospel from a piloted mech to an autonomous one. The pilot wasn't even a major player anyway.

This is great news, personally i really liked the show. The plot was nothing new, but it was still a show that was a ton of fun to watch.

While I disagree with that particular assessment, it still shouldn't be used as the basis to write off the source material as an 'affront to literature.' Comes off as just "It has a premise I don't like so therefore it's absolutely terrible!"
Now I've read all the novels and while they aren't the greatest things (I read the Haganai novels immediately after and couldn't help but think they were so much better than the IS ones) they're still a decent read.

What CrownKlown said. While Gospel's pilot does have another appearence, they could introduce her then easily enough (or just say that they lied and it did have a pilot and the autonomous part was the support AI that was going berserk).

So, does the second half (well where the novels pick up from where the anime ends), get better? From tidbits I've read on around the internet (still have yet to read the novels) on what happens seems like the story gets a little more focused and exciting.

Yup. The bad guy organization makes its debut so that helps give it more focus.

After I heard IS had stopped being published for a while, I dropped the whole series while still on the first book(?) Well whenever Rin came into the picture. Looks like I'll be reading it again.
