I keapt questioning if this is a joke or not, but one email to Bandai Namco America later, I confirmed its validity. They're adding a few small things to the Japanese version only, that will only appeal to Japanese fans ([edit] like, compatibility with Japanese devices and such--not necessarily new features). I corresponded that email with another one asking if the release will be region-locked, due to obvious reverse-importing fears that likely override concern of content addition, but I haven't gotten an email back on that yet, and it's been so long, I'm not expecting one anymore.
