After a while of searching boards and sites, I've finally hit a brick wall. I just don't know what series to pick up now as I don't have the time any more to read a review for each one out there. I could list all the anime I have seen, but I would be here for a while typing away. Pretty much I watch any type, genre, etc. out there as long as it can keep my interest after at least 3-5 episodes

Well I don't have much to go by besides the fact that you like anime so I guess I would have to recommend Texhnolyze. This was a really interesting series for me and I hope you are able to stick through the first five episodes because it does have a slow start while they are introducing the different characters for the stories that are to be told but after everyone is introduced the story goes uphill. The animation, the music, and the stories are really great so I would highly recommend this series.

This series is rather expensive and it is a Geneon title and if you purchase anime you know that Geneon prices are a bit higher but the good thing is that the series is 24 episodes in 6 DVDs. But I know what you mean about the holidays so maybe you are looking for something cheaper in price so I suggest you check out box sets.
Peacemaker is a favorite series of mine. If you like Rurouni Kenshin I really suggest this series. Although I do like Peacemaker more than Kenshin but this is a dark/comedic anime AND it's available in a thinpack so that might be cheaper but IMO Texhnolyze was more enjoyable for me but thats mainly to the fact I really enjoy serious anime because I think most "funny" anime stuff is not really that funny and Texhnolyze was serious the whole way through.

Friend owns an anime store so I tend to get all my anime half priced, I just don't like taking advantage of him all the time. Usually I buy a series once a month since it usually takes me about that long to watch the whole thing.

Thats always good the cheapest I get new releases are $20. Right Stuf has good sales on older stuff and some new stuff as well but anyway....
it would help if you said what genre you prefer. For example I like Mature Action Titles that take themselves serious, like Texhnolyze and Berserk. If you were to say what genre I'm pretty sure more people have stuff to recommend.

Texhnolyze is actually 22 episodes.
I'd make some recommendations, but without any genres or starting points, I'd be taking shots in the dark, sorry.

Pretty much I have seen all the popular ones out there if that helps, it would take me a couple hours to type all the series I have seen to date. As for genre, I pretty much watch anything that has a decent story, graphics and such are a nice plus but without a story then there isn't much point watching it.

Your criteria is still too vague. Either give us more detailed specifications or use My Anime function to establish your own anime database.
Besides, although most users are willing to provide assistance, we don't like to be treated as 'anime Google service'.

I guess I'll just do that, I know its kinda vague but I try not to stick to just one type of genre because its easier to remain neutral. Mostly looking for the recent/good japanese titles since I'm majoring in that right now at college, and no better way to keep at the language then hearing it as much as I can.

If you're majoring in Japanese and you want to know about the latest anime, then why not just read the Japanese websites or magazines? Besides, if it would take you two hours to simply write down everything you've already seen then I don't see much chance that I've seen something you haven't.

I spent a week when I first signed up at ANN: browsing through each and every title (~4000 then, >6000 now) in the Encyclopedia with increasing ID numbers and put those I've seen partially or completely into My Anime. It was time consuming, but you only have to do it once.

Just got done doing that, and boy did I not realize how much I've seen until then. Starting to think I may have spent too much when I have over 200+ anime tapes, dvds, etc.

So you've seen 102 titles (including Bleach and Naruto fansubs *cough*). Most of them are typical shounen titles with some degrees of actions. I've noticed that you haven't watched many romance, comedy, or heavy drama; maybe you can try some more.

Reason I hit a brick wall, I've tried to dab in a little bit of everything but there is just so much out there that it would take me weeks to see even a glimpse of what may be worth watching
