It has been 11 months since Japanese BOTI 18 was released and the usual time between releases is 7 months, so I'm wondering what the delay might be. Last November and this March Afternoon did have installments, so there probably is more than enough for the 19th book.

That is a bit odd, though not unheard of. There were probobly some publishing hickups in Japan, though I suppose it's possible he took a break sometime in 2005 (keep in mind collections are generally published months after the matterial originally appears). If you really need an answer, try over at the Darkhorse forums where the editor of Blade often posts.
