When are the Big O 2 episodes being released on DVD? I can't seem to find this info anywhere. I heard lots of rumors that it was going to show on CN in August, but I hate edits so I want to get the DVD's .

It's coming to Adult Swim. It shouldn't me edited THAT badly, though I might get it on DVD if I like it.

I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't edited at all. if anything CN probably tould them to not put anything that they couldn't show on Adult Swim.

ya but that would also anger fans of the series if it was more toned down than the 1st season.

Actually, I was watching Adult Swim last night and they showed a commercial for Big O. Coming soon - Big O first season uncut. Something like that. Looks like it's not going to Toonami like we first thought.

Adult swim can get away with a lot of stuff. If anything they could have made it MORE violent than the first season and still be within their limits.

True, but most of the editing of the first season was of Christian symbolism. The question I have is will the amount of symbolism be changed from what was originally planned had the show been big enough in Japan to warrent them making a second season without CN's help.

There's a big article in this month's Wizard Anime Insider (that I wrote) about Big O 2 that answers all of these questions and then some. I'd repeat it all here but I want you to buy the magazine.

I don't suppose you would happen to know when that issue will be hitting shelves?

if Big O season 1 is airing uncut on adult swim, then so is Big O 2. besides, it IS cartoon network's show (literally). and yea, it is uncut, direct from CN (unlike the "Eva will be uncut" incident, which was NOT said by CN), they even had the "cast in the name of GOD" in the promos.

After all the christian stuff they got away with in Trigun (Wolfwood, Chapel, Angels, etc) I think it's safe to say that religious undertones of any sort are safe on Adult Swim.

I don't understand what all the problems with the Christian stuff is. It's not like they are forcing you to watch something with Christianity, if you aren't Christian and don't like it don't watch it. It's sickening how much we have to seperate religion from everything.

I have indeed purchased a copy of the relevant issue of Anime Insider and the article does indeed address a number of the questions in this thread and elsewhere. Out of deference to Mr. Bertschy's , I will not post any of said article.

I'm really excited about the return of The Big O. I missed most of the series on it's Toonami run, but once I got past the Giant Robots and Batman overtones, which I now admire, it was a uniquely fascinating and stylish series.
Actually, this is just the result of a double post, but I never feel right just typing, "double post."
