Is the top one a bootleg?
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00031TX7C/104-6483935-4196740?v=glance&n=130 Also how different is the mangafrom the anime? |

If you mean the top market place item then I would say yes, as "import" pretty much means bootleg in that setting. Plus there isn't a R1 release with both series in one set.

http://animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/releases.php?id=1568 My advise to you check the ANN encyclopedia and then go to BIG O (or whatever series you want) and check the releases. These are retailers where you can get legit version of your favorite series. Till next time, Delta Kiral |

generally if Bandai releases something in the US and Canada it's legit IMHO.

First of all, the picture at the top is legit, that's just the Box Set with the Second Season in it.
Second, to add on to Delta's post, while ANN has a list of quite a few fine places to get the products, there are many other outlets to get them from(Best Buy, Suncoast, Sam Goody, if you have any near you, if not, they have wesbsites). Just thought I'd throw some more options out there. Thanks. |

As jdb728 said, that is just the second season of Big O from Amazon. It is not a bootleg, but it does not contain the first 13 episodes, only the second 13.
At Steele Comics we have two Big O specials going on right now if you would care to check them out. We offer Big O, The TV Collections Seasons 1 and 2 together in one special for only $79.95 and the Complete Big O Manga Series Vol. 1 - 6 for the low price of $39.95. You can't really beat those prices for Big O items. Concerning the manga in relation to the anime, it is quite different. The manga covers other adventures that weren't included in the show. If you are a fan of Big O like myself then I would definitely recommend checking it out. Also, if you are a big fan of Big O, I would suggest going to www.savebigo.com and signing the petition to get the third season. They are also having a contest right now for both seasons on DVD and the entire manga collection. |
