On page 13, they have a hilarious satirization of anime-fandom. I thought it spoke to the hearts and minds of all "otaku" out there. I thought it spoke to me....and I was happy.
No need to post exerpts as it is short, but I highly recommend it for any and all who want a light-hearted look at our obsession. |

No need to post excerpts? How are we supposed to see it then?
Actually, it's probably a good thing you didn't post it. It probably stereotypes all anime fans and makes them look like a bunch of fat cosplayers who obesess over Inuyasha and aren't interested in anything else. |

Well as being "turned" to an "otaku" only a couple of weeks ago. If anyone was wondering it happened with 190 eps of naruto in 3 days lol... I thought that people who liked anime and manga were just people who had nothing to do except watch kiddie animations of things that spawned off DBZ and Pokemon. Of course I don't think that now, and am angered at those sterotypers... Could u photoscan that excerpt? We anime fans (or atleast me) just dont find that terrible acting+million of dollars of advertising+ lots of half naked women, makes something worth watching, and find that anime is something that actually shows some time put into it. That's just my view I guess..

I guess the mods can delete this if it breaks any rules. This place is fairly strict, so it seems.
http://www.ironwarrior.us/anime/0906_ToyFare.jpg (this is a scan of a photocopy given to me) Personally, I thought it was very funny since I enjoy satire. You should be able to laugh at your own obsessions. I started watching anime in 1978 with Battle of the Planets and have recently taken it to incredible heights of geekdom. I FULLY admit under oath to being a "bad-ass anime action chick otaku who has no issues with lolicon, siscon or anything bizarre the Japanese can feed me." As my homemade poster on my wall says, "ANIME IS LIFE!" |

That was really funny. And not all giant robot pilots are androgynous(sp?). Some look like guys. Pretty much all of them are angsty though
