Well, I am in sort of a situation. This is due in part to the fact that yes, I am lazy, and yes, I do want the hard things done for me. Heh, who doesn't? Also, bear with me since I know this is an anime forum, but this is something at least somewhat related.
I've taken up learning kanji, thinking it wouldn't be so hard learning after I taught myself hiragana and katakana in two consecutive days. However, unlike the hiragana and katakana, I can't seem to fully memorize these without doing review. I have brought kanji flash cards (Tuttle), but they don't have the particular type of information I am looking for. So, in the interest of saving myself the agrivation of drawing all the Joyo Kanji (~2000 "General Use" Kanji) on my own, homemade flash cards, I come to you with a plea. Does anyone know where I can purchase flash cards, or just cards, that have the Joyo Kanji written on one side, and absolutely nothing else written on the back? Now, I know this is kind of asking for a lot, and chances are no one is going to know where to get something like that, so maybe there can be amendments. If they have the cards with perhaps a definition and maybe the Japanese/Chinese readings on them, that will do as well. However, there absolutely must be space for me to write a few sentences. I need to be able to fit the mnemonic devices that Heisig proposes, and later on fit my own. Finally, if this is impossible, I know that somewhere there exits a document with a bunch of printable cards that use Heisig's method. I have searched diligently for it, but I have encountered nothing but broken and expired links. So, I beg you, someone help make this poor Japanese student's life a bit easier by saving him the time of making countless flash cards that he will undoubtedly be irate after making. Thank you. P.S. - I do know that Heisig puts out his own set of Kanji Flash Cards, but seeing as they are $104, I would rather something cheaper. However, if you know a site that has these for a better price, then by all means please link me to them, as I will buy them up for anything under $60. |
